El Estado y sus insti- tuciones - demanda el libelo - maquinan y tratan de destruir las mezquitas en el Monte del Templo para construir en su lugar el Tercer Templo judío. Cuanto más extensivo es el libelo, y su engañosa y variada raíz agresiva, más proliferan sus ciegos y engañosos devotos. El libelo se está ramificando, apoderándose del discurso académico, religioso y público del mundo árabe, palestino y musulmán... como si fuese la pura verdad. Absurdamente, este daña al pueblo judío y al Estado de Israel preci- samente en el lugar donde el estado judío ha brindado su gesto más generoso, la concesión más grande, jamás hecha por una religión a otra, en el Monte del Templo, el lugar más sagrado para el pueblo judío y sólo el tercer lugar en importancia para la religión musulmana. El libelo intensifica en gran medida el miedo y el odio entre el Estado de Israel y el mundo árabe y en- tre los judíos y musulmanes de todo el mundo. También sirve a aquellos que lo iniciaron o los que lo han cultivado cuidadosamente en las últimas décadas y también parece ofrecernos la mejor prueba del muy conocido adagio que dice que si una mentira es repetida frecuentemente, esta es aceptada como una verdad. Tendremos en cuenta las fuentes, motivaciones y las diversas manifestaciones del libelo para luego pasar a refutarlo. Primero, vale la pena datar tres eventos recientes que ilustran cuan extensi- vamente se ha difundido el libelo y cuan variados son los temores entre los dirigentes palestinos, las masas y la elite musulmana. En diciembre del 2000, tras sólo dos meses del estallido de la Segunda Intifada, Mahmoud Abu Samra, un oficial de inteligencia con rango de coronel del movimiento Fatah, (1) envió una carta a su Presidente Yasser Arafat, que en ese momento gobernaba desde las instalaciones de la Mukata en Ramallah. Abu Samra, quien entonces era jefe de una organización llamada Centro Jerusalén de Información, Investigación y Documentación, pidió que Arafat fuese informado de un “plan sionista para destruir la Mezquita Al-Aqsa con un terremoto artificial”. (2) “Informes militares y estadounidenses publicados recientemente por el diario Estrella Árabe”, escri- bió Abu Samra a Arafat, afirman que un comité israelí fue conformado siendo sus miembros científi- cos de los siguientes lugares: el Technión de Haifa, el Instituto Weitzman en Rehovot y el Instituto Ne- guev en Beer Sheva. Este comité autorizó un plan para destruir la Mezquita Al-Aqsa sin dejar huellas por medio de: a) la creación de un terremoto artificial; b) utilizando ondas sonoras que chocan (que llegan de fuera de una pared y lo empujan hacia adentro); c) la creación de un vacío aéreo; d) crear tormentas eléctricas locales artificiales. 5 Abu Samra añadió: “La mayoría de los experimentos se llevaron a cabo ya en 1999 bajo las aguas del Mar Muerto y también en el desierto del Neguev. Los informes apuntan al hecho que la base subterránea de la mezquita ha sido ahuecada por las excavaciones [arqueológicas] israelíes. Los expertos sionistas esperan que la estructura colapse como resultado de los daños al equilibrio entre la presión de aire externo y la presión interna. Solicito su orientación e instrucciones”. La carta de Abu Samra fue encontrada por Israel mientras tomaba el control de la Casa Oriental, al este de Jerusalén, durante la operación antiterrorista Escudo Defensivo 2002. La carta también llevaba un sello de Arafat afirmando que había alcanzado su objetivo (la había leído). Arafat tomó el informe de Abu Samra con plena seriedad. Este ordenó por escrito (3) que la información fuese transmitida a un grupo de personas, entre ellas el líder de Jerusalén Oriental Faisal Al-Husseini, el Jeque Yusuf Salama, el miembro del gabinete palestino Ziad Abu Ziad y el gobernador del distrito de Jerusalén de la Autoridad Palestina Jamal Othman. Diciembre del 2000. La carta del funcionario de inteligencia palestino Coronel Mah- moud Abu Samra al Presidente Yasser Arafat acusando a Israel de planificar “destruir la Mezquita de Al-Aqsa, creando un terremoto artificial”. Arafat ordenó que la carta fuese distribuida a los líderes palestinos claves en Jerusalén Oriental. 6 El segundo evento, al parecer de importancia marginal, fue publicado por el Dr. Hillel Cohen en su libro Kikar Hashuk Rekah (La Plaza del Mercado Vacía) (4) aunque por aquellos días no atrajo mucho la atención. Este ocurrió en abril 2006 e ilustra muy bien con qué facilidad uno puede ensamblar masas de musulmanes creyentes para “proteger el Monte del Templo de los judíos” sin emitir ni un solo destello de incitación premeditada. Por aquellos días, un nuevo sistema de megafonía computa- rizado había sido instalado en la Mezquita Al-Aqsa y el muazín Nagi Al-Kazaz grabó el llamado a los rezos. El sistema fue programado de manera que si, a causa de un retraso, el muazín no realizaba la llamada a los rezos, el sistema funcionase de forma automática y la voz de Al-Kazaz fuese escuchada por todos. Sin embargo, el ingeniero judío que programó el sistema para el Waqf musulmán no conocía las horas de los rezos musulmanes y el llamado a las rezos del mediodía fue fijado por error para las 00:45 am. Lo que sucedió fue que, en la primera noche, tras haber instalado el sistema, la voz del muazín se escuchó de repente convocando a los creyentes a los rezos en una hora equivocada. Miles de residentes de la Antigua Ciudad y sus entornos, que escucharon la llamada y sabían que no era la hora de los rezos, supusieron que era una llamada para defender el Monte del Templo. Muchos llegaron al lugar, algunos armados con palos. Sólo después de grandes esfuerzos, los guardias del Waqf pudieron explicarles el error para enviarlos de vuelta a casa. El tercer incidente también es aparentemente trivial, pero también ilustra el grado en que el dominio israelí sobre las mezquitas del Monte del Templo afecta a millones de creyentes musulmanes en todo el mundo, algunos de ellos a miles de millas de distancia ya que desde ese sensible lugar se generan las creencias, los sentimientos, así como también las distorsiones y los libelos respecto al monte. Esta historia fue contada al estudioso del Medio Oriente Profesor Itzjak Reiter por un intelectual egip- cio en una conferencia en Amán (Jordania) en el año 2000.     ISRAEL Israel is a multiparty parliamentary democracy with a population of approximately 7.7 million, including Israelis living in the occupied territories. Israel has no constitution, although a series of "Basic Laws" enumerate fundamental rights. Certain fundamental laws, orders, and regulations legally depend on the existence of a "State of Emergency," which has been in effect since 1948. The 120-member, unicameral Knesset has the power to dissolve the government and mandate elections. The February 2009 elections for the Knesset were considered free and fair. They resulted in a coalition government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israeli security forces reported to civilian authorities. (An annex to this report covers human rights in the occupied territories. This report deals with human rights in Israel and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.) Principal human rights problems were institutional, legal, and societal discrimination against Arab citizens, Palestinian residents of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (see annex), non-Orthodox Jews, and other religious groups; societal discrimination against persons with disabilities; and societal discrimination and domestic violence against women, particularly in Bedouin society. While trafficking in persons for the purpose of prostitution decreased in recent years, trafficking for the purpose of labor remained a serious problem, as did abuse of foreign workers and societal discrimination and incitement against asylum seekers. Popisuje nešťastný souběh dějinných událostí a výroků klíčových státníků, který mohl způsobit, že se Mnichov stal součástí izraelské sdílené paměti. Když Adolf Hitler 12. září 1938 v atmosféře vrcholící sudetské krize pronesl svůj protičeský projev, použil v něm rovněž příměr Československa s Palestinou.     Atarot and the Fate Apart from a brief flurry of media attention at the end of 2007 when reports of the Jerusalem surfaced of post-Annapolis plans to build Airport one of the largest Jewish residential settlements in one of the strategic and Marian Houk densely-populated areas of contiguous Palestinian inhabitation in the Jerusalem area, there has been very little public interest focused on present-day Atarot, an area of former Jewish settlement and now the location of an Israeli-operated industrial zone adjacent to Qalandia. It is the site of two major infrastructure installations – one is a non-operational but still-viable airport originally built by the British during the mandate period, and the other is Jerusalem largest industrial zone, constructed by the Israeli Land Administration after Israel’s 1967 conquest. Jewish activists began to live and work in Atarot in 1914, but they moved away at some point during the First World War, and then returned in 1922, when Palestine was under British administration but prior to the League of Nations’ formal establishment of the Palestine Mandate.
