PRESIDENT – GREG KEDDIE’S MESSAGE Welcome, everyone, to the St Vital Curling Club for the 2015-16 Curling Season! Whether this is your first year with us, or you are a returning member, I trust that your curling season will be an enjoyable one. Our Club is a healthy and vibrant place, catering to a diverse range of curlers. If you have never curled before, or are the most seasoned curler who wants to “go all the way”, there is a spot that fits your skill level, from novice junior leagues, to stick curling, to a competitive cash league. If you are looking for a place to spend our famous long, cold winters, the St Vital has it all! Find lifelong friendships, good times, and laughs; all accompanied by great hot food and cold beverages — enough to satisfy the greatest hunger or thirst. The St Vital is the proud home to many successful teams, who in this past year, participated and won provincial and national events. In the upcoming season, the St Vital is pleased to be the host of The Travelers provincial playdowns, which will be held in March 2015. All participants, we welcome you to Winnipeg! You may have noticed our Club is working towards a greener way of doing things. This involves our newly updated website that provides our members with latest schedules and team information, as well as up to date happenings at the St Vital. Part of this new initiative includes the new style Members Handbook that can either be downloaded from the site or requested online. Have a great year!

TO START ON TIME AND BE HACK READY !! Be Hack Ready As soon as the opposing team shot is past the hogline, your teams next player should enter the hack and prepare the rock to be thrown as soon as the places his broom, and indicates they are ready for your shot. Start On Time Have your team on the ice, with a completed coin toss, and be hack ready, PRIOR to the bell at 7:00 P.M or 9:15 P.M. for night games. The same applies for other game start times. Immediately after the bell sounds the first rock should be thrown

LARRY JONES JUNIORS CLASSIC The 1st Annual World Financial Group Larry Jones Junior Classic Presented by Monsanto and hosted by the St. Vital Curling Club, ran from Sept. 24-27.

This new Junior Event is named in honor of Larry Jones. Mr. Jones has spent a tremendous amount of time over the years supporting the club. He was a member of the Board of Directors for many years and served as Club President. He also has spent many years supporting the junior program at the club. He has spent countless hours on the ice, both as a coach and an instructor. Hundreds of junior curlers over the years have benefited from his experience. Naming the bonspiel in his honor was an easy choice.

The 30 teams were playing for $6,000 in cash, making this one of the richest junior bonspiels in Manitoba.

The Club would like to thank World Financial Group and Monsanto for their generous support of the Classic.

And a special thank you to Team Jennifer Jones, for their support and help in making the Classic happen.
