The old Wesleyan chapel in Cullen was constructed in 1814. The present church was built in 1904/5 on the site of the old chapel and an old house adjoining it.

Chancellor Road, Portessie.
Portessie Methodist society was one of the major results of the 1860s revival ministry of James Turner and it became the main base and springboard of the work which followed. By 1864 they were strong enough to call a minister and in 1866 a church was opened. That building was duly outgrown and the present handsome galleried church was completed in 1913.

PD14/3 RECORDS OF FINDOCHTY METHODIST CHURCH
Seaview Road, Findochty.
There has been a Methodist church in the village since the early 1870s. The Seaview Road site has been in use since it was built in 1916. Prior to that Methodists worshipped in a building currently used by the Salvation Army in the village. The Methodist movement along the South coast of the Moray Firth was greatly expanded and organised from the Revival of the 1860s. James Turner, a cooper from Peterhead, who was called to preach, was the most important Methodist influence in the area during this time.

Located at the corner of Reidhaven and Seafield Streets, Banff. The church was built in 1878 and was the third church built by the congregation, which was established in 1777. The church closed in 2017.

At the Methodist Conference in 1900, it was decided that the Peterhead, Banff and Portessie Circuits would be joined at the 1901 conference to form the North-East Scotland Mission Circuit. The Aberdeen circuit was amalgamated into the North of Scotland Mission in 1905. The North of Scotland Mission Circuit as it is today (2019) includes Methodist Churches in Aberdeen, Buckie, Cullen, Findochty, Peterhead and Portessie.

PD62 PETERHEAD METHODIST CHURCH RECORDS
Although Methodists first visited Peterhead in 1759, by 1815 Methodism had become an almost extinct force, but the cause was revived in 1845. The present Wesley Methodist Church was erected in 1866 in Queen Street, Peterhead.
Peterhead Methodist Church currently forms part of the North of Scotland Mission Circuit. The Aberdeen Circuit which included Dundee for some time was established in 1765 and the Circuit organisation varied from time to time according to the survival of the churches. Later it became known as the North of Scotland Mission Circuit as it is today.
