We agreed on a date. For this occasion, The Compagnia Sacco invited Giuliano d’Angiolini, an Italian composer and musi- cologist, originally from a neighboring valley, who lived and still lives in Paris. I was glad to meet the author of the article that inspired me to make the film. He was familiar with some of my publications and had seen my earlier documentaries when he was a student at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy), where the father of Italian ethnomusicology, redentore rebaudo and nicodemo martini Diego Carpitella, invited me to a summer seminar in 1984. While in Ceriana, I spoke about my particular way of filming PREPARATION music, distinctive from TV norms and aesthetics. Giuliano strongly supported the project and the members of The Com- pagnia Sacco accepted the idea. This is how the film making After thirty-seven years of working with the CNRS (National adventure started.

Many importers sought sole agency, but it was not yet possible to control sales at the large international harbours.

  • The Name in the Law. a Person's Name in Italian Civil Law from the Civil Code of 1865 to the Constitution of 1947
The name in the law. A person’s name in Italian Civil Law from the Civil Code of 1865 to the Constitution of 1947 Giovanni MARTINI 0. Introduction The definition of the concept of ‘law’ has always been one of the central problems of academics and philosophers. The difficulty of the problem comes from the need to identify the elements which characterise the legal rules and distinguish them from other sets of rules (moral rules and customs in particular) even if they co-exist and overlap. In the complicated development of this research, the distinctive and peculiar nature of the law has sometimes been identified in a par- ticular structure of its rules and sometimes in their content or in the type of language used, the subject covered by the rules, etc. This is not the place to undertake an analysis of these different types of approaches to the problem, also because it would be impossible to give a complete presentation of the various theories. For our pur- poses, it is important to underline that, from the variety of the solutions shown, one point appears to be clear: the deep and unbreakable link between the law and society. The law undeniably “governs the social actions of people or the actions which man takes when he is living in a society” (Bobbio 1957, 771). Ubi societas ibi jus, says an old legal maxim; in other words: the vital element in any social organisations is comprised of the rules which govern community life. But the link between law and society is often so deep that the statement remains true even and when it is reversed: ubi jus ibi societas.

  • Towards a New Flora of Liguria: the Usefulness of Citizen Science Through the Wikiplantbase Floristic Surveys
Biogeographia – The Journal of Integrative Biogeography 36 (2021): s001 SPECIAL SECTION: Citizen Science in Biogeography https://doi.org/10.21426/B636049371 Towards a new flora of Liguria: the usefulness of citizen science through the Wikiplantbase floristic surveys IAN BRIOZZO*, GIUSEPPINA BARBERIS, CARLO CIBEI, DANIELA LONGO, SIMONETTA PECCENINI, DAVIDE DAGNINO Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra, dell’Ambiente e della Vita (DISTAV), Università di Genova, Corso Europa 26, I-16132, Genova (Italy) * corresponding author, e-mail: [email protected] Keywords: floristic checklist, herbarium, Italy, heritage species, online database. SUMMARY The current understanding of the richness and distribution of plant species on a national scale, achieved by the recent checklists of Italian flora, is largely based on the quality and thoroughness of the data provided by regional floristic studies. This knowledge benefits from regional databases, such as the Wikiplantbase #Liguria project, which offers an online platform where thousands of geo-referenced floristic records from Liguria (north-western Italy) are stored and freely accessible. In 2019, adopting a citizen science approach, a floristic survey program consisting of 11 excursions opened to the public was implemented, with the aim of deepening the floristic knowledge of some poorly investigated areas of the region. The active collaboration between scientists and volunteers led to the collection of about 4000 floristic data corresponding to more than 800 taxa, including 13 taxa unknown or no longer recorded for Liguria. These results suggest that citizen science can be a useful tool to address the knowledge gaps of regional floras. In particular, collaboration between experts and non-professional botanists allows to collect reliable data even for hardly-to-recognize taxa, contributing to fix some gaps occurring in the Wikiplantbase #Liguria project.
