Welcome back to , home of the THREE-TIME CHAMPIONS!! We are so very pleased that you will be joining us in celebrating the ninth season of Boomers baseball.

We had to wait an extra year but our ninth season is set to be our best yet with an exciting promotions schedule filled with fun from May until August. On the field, Jamie Bennett has been working diligently during the offseason to put together the best possible team to try and win our fourth league championship. Jamie’s goal is clear – advance to the Frontier League playoffs and bring another championship trophy back to Schaumburg for the fourth time in nine seasons.

As always, fan experience is our number one priority, and it is our mission to provide each and every fan the best possible and safest experience at the ballpark. We know that no matter which games you come to, you and your family will have a blast at an affordable price. And we know you will never leave without feel- ing happy, whether by way of dancing with Coop or enjoying one of our famous fireworks shows.

On behalf of our family and the entire Boomers organization, thank you for making the Schaumburg Boom- ers a special and successful franchise in the Chicagoland area. We look forward to seeing you again at Wintrust Field this summer!

Go Boomers!

Pat & Lindy Salvi Boomers Owners

Boomers Fans, As you read this, our communities are emerging from the very long shadow cast by the pandemic. Life as we know it is returning to normal but not without a great sense of loss - and gratitude. The Frontier League is grateful to you for your support and to the Schaumburg community as makes its long-awaited return, and the game once again plays a role in nationwide healing by providing fans with fun, excitement, and wholesome family entertainment. We have a new resolve to deliver all of that during each of your visits to Wintrust Field.

Since our teams last competed, the Frontier League has been named as a Partner League to . This designation honors our longevity and past successes in providing players the opportunity along their journey to the highest levels of professional baseball. It also strengthens our collective efforts to grow the game and extends our reach to engage younger fans.

Our league has also grown. In fact, we are the largest of MLB’s four Partner Leagues with a footprint that captures our legacy teams in the Midwest and now teams in the East and to the North in ! Cities like , , , , and City are all a long away from communities that we call home, making accessibility easy for MLB scouts and value to our partners and sponsors even more significant.

I am very grateful to lead the Frontier League of Professional Baseball into a new phase of growth and opportunity. You have our commitment that we will build upon the brand of our league, which means, most importantly, that we will be obsessively focused on providing you, our fans, with the very best experienc- es possible at our ballparks. It also means that more players that you watch right here in a Schaumburg Boomers uniform will display the talent and the will to reach the big leagues. Through this early date in the season, we have seen a record number of player contracts purchased by Major League Baseball teams. The future is very bright and on behalf of our league ownership and hard-working staff at all our ballclubs, we welcome you back to the joy of Frontier League baseball.

Sincerely,

Jon C. Danos Chief Executive Officer Frontier League of Professional Baseball

K MANAGER JAMIE BENNETT Jamie Bennett has been the field manager of the Schaumburg Boomers since our inaugural season, joining the organization in October 2011.

When he spoke at the team’s unveiling event, Bennett promised to build a team that the Village of Schaumburg and the Northwest Suburbs could be proud of, and Bennett is a man of his word. The 2013 Boomers captured Schaumburg’s first-ever championship, the team went on to win again in 2014, and the Boomers brought home the team’s third title in 2017.

Pitching Background Bennett played at the University of Tennessee as an all-SEC for the Volun- teers. In 149.2 innings, which included 19 starts and six complete games during the 2000 season, the southpaw earned a 10-4 record and an ERA of 2.71, striking out 111 and walking just 39.

Originally selected by the in 2000 during the 22nd round of the Major League entry draft, Ben- nett pitched two seasons for the Batavia Muckdogs, the Single-A affiliate of the Phillies in the New York- League. A veteran of 104 minor league games that included 78 starts, Bennett had a career record of 37-18 and an ERA of 3.89. The southpaw also racked up 379 strikeouts to just 138 walks in 513.2 innings as a professional.

In 2002, Bennett joined the ranks of independent baseball, becoming a pitcher for the Frontier League’s former team, the Dubois County Dragons, under the leadership of mentor Greg Tagert, who eventually became manager of the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

In what would be his final season as a player, Bennett was recruited to pitch for his former manager in Gary, . In 2005, Bennett earned a 10-5 record in 150 innings over 24 starts while striking out 68 and walking only 27. He started and won Game Five of the 2005 Northern League Championship Series for the RailCats to secure the franchise’s first Championship.

During his playing career, Bennett also served as an assistant at Division II baseball powerhouse University of South Carolina at Aiken. This experience would serve him well as he transitioned his career from pitching to coaching and management.

Coaching History After retiring as a player, Bennett began his coaching career in 2006, mid-season, as a Pitching Coach for the RailCats. The team had an ERA of 5.63 before his arrival; over the remaining 62 games that season, the team’s ERA dropped to 3.45. This turnaround for the pitching staff was key to carrying the RailCats to the postseason that year.

Over the next two years as Pitching Coach, the RailCats twice posted ERAs under 4.00, earning Bennett the league’s Pitcher of the Year recognitions in 2007 and 2008. During his tenure, five RailCats earned All-Star Team as- signments, two of whom were named to ’s All-Independent Teams. Four of Bennett’s pitchers—Willie Glen, Chad Blackwell, Kris Regas and Edwin Walker—went on to play for Major League organizations.

Accomplishments with the Boomers In 2011, Pat Salvi, Owner & CEO of the RailCats, expanded his enterprise by launching his second team—the Schaum- burg Boomers. With his deep knowledge and appreciation of Bennett’s talents, Salvi had his top choice for the Boom- ers’ first Field Manager.

During the Boomers inaugural season, Bennett led the Boomers to a 54-42 regular season record, leading the league for the first half of the season and falling only a single game short of a post-season berth. Fortunes would be even better in 2013 when Bennett piloted the Boomers to the best record in the regular season (59-37), and Schaumburg became the first Frontier League team ever to sweep all of their competition with a 6-0 playoff record. For all these reasons, Bennett earned his first Frontier League Manager of the Year accolade in 2013.

Under Bennett, the Boomers returned to post-season victory in 2014 after having achieved a 61-35 regular season re- cord. The 2017 Schaumburg Boomers’ regular season record was 66-30, the year in which the organization took home its third champion title. In seven seasons as the Boomers manager, Bennett owns a 408-347 record.

Jamie spends his off-seasons in his native Tennessee with his wife Julie and his two sons, Ollie and Sully. 847.413.1010 CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY A dominant second half sent the Boomers into the playoffs in just their second season in 2013. The second half success continued into the play- offs where the team became the first in league history to complete a 6-0 stretch in the playoffs, sweeping the Lake Erie Crushers to win the Frontier League Championship on the road. Every game was won in the seventh inning or later.

The Boomers tied for the best record in the league in 2014, but entered the playoffs as a wild card, needing to win a 1-0 contest at home over Lake Erie to reach the divisional round. The Boomers won twice when facing elimination and became the third team in league history to win back-to-back titles with a 6-2 victory at home.

Logging the best record in franchise history (66- 30), the Boomers won their third Frontier League title in 2017. The team hit four homers in the championship game at Florence, grabbing a 6-2 victory to become the first team in league histo- ry to win three championships. The popular Pollyana Cabana beer garden, which can be found at the end of the concourse along the first base side, will now feature a crisp Ger- man-style Kölsch developed just for the ballpark.

“Pollyanna Brewing is thrilled to be partnering with the Boomers once again for the upcoming 2021 season,” said Ryan Weidner, Co-Founder, President & CEO of Pollyanna Brewing Company. “We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Boomers on crafting the Boomers Kölsch collaboration and are optimistic that baseball fans will enjoy this unique summertime offering.”

Pollyanna beers, which can be purchased at both the Cabana and other locations throughout the stadium, will also include Summerly Raspberry Wheat Ale, Lite Thinking American-style Lager/ Pilsner, Lexical Gap India Pale Ale, and the Full Lemonty Golden Ale, among others.

Light in color and malt character, as is typical of this brewing style, the Boomers Kölsch rounds out the lineup, says Weidner. “Boomers Kölsch is an easy drinking, crisp German Ale brewed for refreshment and fun at the ballpark.”

Pollyanna’s award-winning craft beers are brewed right down the street in Roselle, where it is al- ready proving popular among visitors to the local taproom. “Boomers Kölsch can be found on tap and in 4-packs to-go right down the street at Pollyanna’s Roselle taproom,” said Weidner.
