What’s happening in Umbrella Childrens Services

The children have enjoyed a wonderful summer at Umbrella! The play scheme days and trips were all very busy, with plenty of fantastic activities going on for the children to take part in. Days at Umbrella House ranged from fun water games and sport’s activities in the garden to making our own cars to race. We also had some special visitors come including a magician and ‘Dazzle’ the beautiful Shetland pony.

Children’s Services love to make the most of the weather as we went on plenty of adventures out into the surrounding community. We have visited some exciting places including Butterley Steam Railway, Happy Hens Farm, West Park swimming and park, Derby beach and many more.

As well as our group play scheme trips; many of our children had fun with their one to one support worker out and about around Derby and Derbyshire. Some adventures included dinosaur shows, swimming trips and days out to the park.

Children’s Services can be accessed by children receiving Derby City Short Break funding or Derbyshire County Council Positive Activities. You can also Spot Purchase Support if you receive a Personal Budget. If you would like to find out more you can contact our Single Point of Access on 01332 785658

What’s happening in Umbrella Young Adult Services

INDE The INDE group enjoyed an Italian Day where they tried their hand at making homemade pasta…it tasted a lot better then it looked! They also made a pasta sauce from scratch using fresh veggies as well as homemade garlic bread. For dessert, they made the most delicious lemon cheesecake!

In the afternoon we all made beautiful masquerade masks which the young adults were very pleased with, as you can see by the photos. A wonderful day enjoyed by all!

TEAM What a fantastic summer we have had with the young adults at Umbrella! We have enjoyed some wonderful days out as well as fun days at Umbrella House. We had a visit from Tribal Vibes who provided an African drum workshop for us. We made a lot of noise and had lots of fun creating beats and rhythms as a group. A brilliant day had by all!
