CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

The greatest capacity building asset will be the newly established Creative Centre Nitra. Providing modern infrastructure in the city centre and within the large complex of former army barracks, it intertwines history, nature, culture and education. It will provide 19 types of services within 35 programmes, e.g. incubator and accelerator labs for the development of entrepreneurial skills for CCI and international residencies, exchanges and internships. The centre will support traditional crafts and interconnect them with new technologies in a re-use centre and woodworking, textile and jewellery workshops, while the large coworking centre will provide space for freelancers. Music rehearsal rooms, and a modern exhibition hall will provide a background for experimental theatres, exhibitions and skill development for sound engineers and light designers. The plan is to reach at least 8,500 participants (CCI employees and entrepreneurs, students and fresh graduates) during the implementation phase.

CCI is just what the doctor ordered for our local and regional tourism industry. They can develop new creative tourism products and elevate the quality and image of the destination. Heritage-based cultural tourism, along with conference and exhibition tourism will be complemented by new knowledge and skill-based activities and products. The visitors will gain more engaging cultural experience, while the destination will move
