Designated Rights of Way

We have in Crick a number of footpaths, bridleways and byways that have been in existence for years. All these are registered and given a unique reference number starting with EM.

EM1 Starts at the main road at the Playing Field gate and goes parallel to the garden fences to the northeast corner of the field. It turns right between the gardens into Kingstyle Close where it ends. EM2 Starts at Barley Croft, a finger sign directs across the fields. Take care crossing the bypass and be sure to follow the signs through the factory. The path continues to . EM3 Starts at the junction of St Margaret's churchyard wall and the burial ground, goes through the estate, over the bypass, over the canal on the footbridge and on the northerly side of Crack's Hill to rejoin the canal EM4 This is signposted as a bridleway and starts at the roundabout at the easterly end of the bypass. The route goes across the fields towards Crack's Hill where it continues on to . EM5 Starts at the Nursery entrance on the road. The path goes across the fields to the Foxholes. EM6 Starts near the Post Office and goes across the fields to join the canal. This is not an easy route as the ground is often very wet. EM7 Starts at the junction of Lauds Road and Boathorse Lane. The path goes across the fields to Silworth Lodge at the Parish Boundary. EM8 Links EM7 at Silworth Lodge to Watford. EM9 This is a short path that is very pretty in the summer, starting on the south end of the Derry. It passes through the garden of "Mill House" to the kissing gate in the garden wall to the field. Go to the right hand side of the pit in Well Hills and follow the hedge line, cross a stile and follow the signs through the garden until a further style ends the path at Marsons Drive. EM10 Starts at the Derry and goes across the fields to Tunnel Farm. EM11 Starts at the Derry and goes across the fields in parallel with Kilsby Lane, joining it at the underpass at the Motorway. EM12 This is Kilsby Lane which is a bridleway going to all the way directly to Kilsby. EM13 Starts at the weighbridge lay-by and runs parallel to the motorway past Haythog Farm towards Shenley Farm. EM14 Starts at the end of Oak Lane, passing between the the houses and through the gate towards the school field and Bury Dyke. It joins EM3 EM15 Starts on the north side of the churchyard by The Elms, going east to join EM3 at the churchyard wall and the burial ground. EM16 Starts in High Street next to Rose Cottage and runs east towards the URC Chapel and The Marsh. EM17 Starts at the south end of High Street with the junction of Lauds Road and Watford Road passing to the left of the finger post. Crossing the drive to "Stone Lea" bungalow this path then follows the left hand wall between the gardens. Emerging into Southfields Close where it ends. EM18 Not used

EM19 Starts at Bucknell's Lane passing between the gardens and into Church Street by Towers Undertakers and opposite St Margaret's Church EM20 This path replaces the part of the destroyed in the construction of the Motorway. Effectively it starts at the southerly side of the bridge over the motorway on Watford Road and extends towards Kilsby Lane. EM21 Starts by the Ex-Serviceman's Club and passes through St Margaret's churchyard to join EM3 at the churchyard wall and the burial ground. EM22 Starts after the bridge over the bypass on Yelvertoft Road and follows the field hedgeline to the canal joining EM4
