THE CHEVROLET SPARK LIFE IS FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES – WITH THE CHEVROLET SPARK YOU CAN MAKE THE MOST OF THEM IT ALL STARTS WITH A … SPARK When you give a designer a blank sheet of paper, you should be prepared for fireworks. By starting from scratch, our designers were able to take stock, look at things from a different angle, and reassess their own beliefs. Ultimately, what they created was more than just a Spark. They ignited something far more powerful ... their own imagination. A SHIFT OF THINKING More than just the sum of its parts, the Chevrolet Spark is a shift of thinking – an inspiration, that looks at the conventional and turns the other way. The Spark is a real car built for real people. With this in mind, perhaps it’s only fitting that our designers decided to ask themselves some very real questions ... DO CITY CARS HAVE TO The Spark’s sculpted headlights, integrated rear spoiler and muscular LOOK BORING? wheel arches, prove that they don’t. But it’s not just about looks. Those raised wheel arches do far more than just give the car a sporty, aggressive stance. They also help to improve the car’s aerodynamics, reducing drag and increasing fuel efficiency. Raising the wheel arches also got us thinking about the rear door handles — where best to put them? We love little questions like these — we see them as opportunities ... FUN ON FOUR WHEELS Ask an owner what the Spark is like to drive and they probably won’t mention the vehicle’s MacPherson struts or modern 1.0 litre and 1.2 litre engines. The grin on their face will tell you all you need to know, though. Take it for a test drive and you’ll understand – the Spark is simply great fun to drive. Whichever way you look at it, the Spark isn’t just your average city car. It’s an inspirational little vehicle that refuses to follow the beaten track – a car that creates a whole new path for itself and goes its own way ... CHEVROLET SPARK WHAT WILL IT INSPIRE IN YOU? Just like a spark, it’s often the smallest of things that lead to something truly remarkable. We’re not saying that the slimline mp3 player-ready stereo had any major impact on the Spark’s handling. Nor are we saying that the climate control* system had anything to do with improving the car’s 0-60mph time. However, by taking all of these things and placing them into one integrated centre stack we were able to create one of the most uncluttered and well thought out instrument panels around. IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS * standard on LT. 1067 mm 893 mm SMALL CAR? So much space, that it allows five adults to be seated in comfort. WHAT SMALL CAR? Your friends will appreciate the extra room, and so will you. When it comes to loading the weekly shopping, the Spark’s generous interior boasts an impressively flexible 60/40 split-fold seating arrangement and over 568 litres of luggage space (VDA) when the seats are folded. The car’s interior dimensions also allowed us to add a whole host of other little luxuries. The height-adjustable driver’s seat being one such example. More importantly, however, the added space meant we weren’t forced to compromise on the REALLY important things ... Engine subframe is designed CRUMPLE ZONE to absorb energy, while maintaining high loads. with ESC without ESC CRUMPLE ZONE CRUMPLE ZONE Transition zone around A-pillars directs energy Optional rear parking assist away from passengers. CRUMPLE ZONE makes city driving a breeze. SAFETY FIRST Got any questions about the Spark’s safety credentials? After all, you’ve got far too much left to experience. The car’s four star EURO NCAP rating should answer A whole lot more still to accomplish and just too many them once and for all. Combined with four independent exciting places left to go … crumple zones, electronic stability control (ESC) and advanced steel construction, it’s enough to make other Traction control system (TCS) and (ESC) electronic stability control additional safety features are available in certain Chevrolet models, cars in this class blush. both as standard equipment as well as optional.
