When I retired I got the idea to find all my second cousins; that is all those having the same great-grandparents as myself. My 4 pairs of great-grandparents are coming from (see map); 1. Østre Bolæren, 2. Sparrønningen 3. Maagerø and 4. Vasskalven. Thus all my family is connected to the two wonderful islands Nøt- terøy and Tjøme in the Oslofjord. In 2013 a large part of this area become a national park called Færder (see the map). Use Google and write “Færder National Park” and you can find a lot of infor- mation on this summer paradise. I have done research on my great-grandparents – both on their ancestors and in particular their de- scendants – and you can find it on internet with the address; www.maukon.com. Here you can also find similar work on the 4 families to my wife (Målfrid Henriksen). 1. Østre Bolæren 2. Sparrønningen 3. Maagerø 4. Vasskalven 2 This is an updated version in English. Preface From the map you can see the position of Maagerø – the peninsula on the northeast side of Tjøme. This area has during the years been known for the military activities and lately as the summer par- adise for the royal family. My ancestors (6 generations above me) came to Maagerø in 1755. At that time it was only one farm, which also included some islands like Leistein (see the map).
