All GoodGame staff will be identified by wearing black shirts with the official Battle of the Five Gods logo on the front, and GGA on their back collars. Attempts to pass off wristbands to other people can result in forced forfeiture of games. All players are welcome in the player lounge at all times, regardless of elimination. PRACTICE STATIONS The Player Lounge will be furnished with a total of five practice/warm-up stations. Three of these stations will be open for use to all players, with two reserved for the four players considered to be “On Deck” at a given time. Each station will feature seating, a television, a console, and a copy of the game. ON DECK STATIONS These stations will be identical to the standard practice stations, but will have their own designated area. Once a player is considered on deck, they may only warm-up in this area and on these stations. On Deck stations may not be used by players that are not on deck, unless they are asked by an on deck player to assist them with warm-up. VIEWING SCREENS The player lounge will have multiple screens on which players may watch the tournament stream. CATERING AND OUTSIDE FOOD AND DRINK Twice daily catered meals will be provided in the player lounge. Meals will arrive at 12:00PM and 5:00PM. Other than our catering, no outside food or drink is permitted in the venue or in the player lounge. 06 07 DAILY TIMELINE AND PLAYER SCHEDULE AT&T HOTEL PLAYER PICK-UP - DAILY 10:30 AM Players staying in the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center must be present downstairs in the hotel lobby at 10:30AM each morning for transport to the venue. They may not choose to arrange their own transportation, as we want to ensure their timely arrival to the venue. OMNI HOTEL PLAYERS BEGIN WALKING TO VENUE DAILY 10:30 AM This is the latest time players staying in the Omni Hotel are recommended to depart for the venue. The Omni is within walking distance of the venue - 0.5 miles, or about 5 blocks - so no transportation will be provided for players staying there. ALL CALL - DAILY 11:00 AM All Call is the latest time acceptable for competitors to arrive in the player lounge for head count, briefing, and Q&A each day prior to play beginning. Once players arrive for All Call, they may not leave the venue again until their games for the day are complete. Failure to be present in the player lounge by 11:00AM each day can, based on the situation and severity of infraction, result in the forced forfeiture of games and sets as dictated by the organizers. PLAY BEGINS - DAILY 12:00 PM Competition will begin promptly at noon (CST) each day of the event. Players may only leave the venue once their matches are complete for the day and they’ve obtained permission from our Stage Manager, Gianni Rosheuvel. If Gianni is unavailable, con- tact a nearby GoodGame staffer and they will assist you. PLAY CONCLUDES - DAILY NO LATER THAN 8:00 PM Given the nature of pool play, it is very difficult to estimate how long each day will take. However, the venue itself will close promptly at 8:00PM each night, which is our hard-out time. A given day’s match schedule may be shortened to fit this time schedule. 07 08 MATCH SCHEDULE Matches begin each day at noon CST DAY 1 DAY 2 DAY 3 Armada vs. SFAT SFAT vs. Hugs M1 - Winner's Bracket Round 1 PPMD vs. PewPewU PewPewU vs. Ice M2 - Winner's Bracket Round 1 Silent Wolf vs. Hugs Hungrybox vs. Wobbles M3 - Winner's Bracket Round 1 Westballz vs. Ice MacD vs. DruggedFox M4 - Winner's Bracket Round 1 Shroomed vs. Lucky S2J vs. Nintendude M5 - Loser's Bracket Round 1 Armada vs. Hugs Hungrybox vs. Lucky M6 - Loser's Bracket Round 1 PPMD vs. Ice Armada vs. Silent Wolf M7 - Winner's Bracket Semi-Finals Shroomed vs. Wobbles PPMD vs. Westballz M8 - Winner's Bracket Semi-Finals Silent Wolf vs. SFAT Mango vs. Axe M9 - Loser's Bracket Round 2 Westballz vs. PewPewU Mew2King vs. Plup M10 - Loser's Bracket Round 2 Lucky vs. Wobbles Hungrybox vs. Shroomed M11 - Loser's Bracket Round 3 Mango vs. MacD PG1 vs. PG5 M12 - Winner's Bracket Finals Mew2King vs. S2J PG2 vs. PG4 M13 - Loser's Bracket Finals Axe vs. DruggedFox PG3 vs. PG5 M14 - Grand Finals Plup vs. Nintendude PG1 vs. PG4 Mango vs. DruggedFox PG2 vs.

This study aims to analyze this promotional language sportscasters use by approaching it from the linguistic phenomenon of metadiscourse. This will be achieved by utilizing a theoretical framework adapted from previous research on eSports commentaries. By comparing a traditional sport, in this case mixed martial arts, with that of the eSport of Super Smash Bros. Melee, the aim is to see what differences can be found between the two sports’ commentaries and their use of metadiscursive promotional language. After comparing these two sets of commentaries, the results show that there are some differences in how promotional language is used to enhance the understanding and excitement of their respective sports.
