FORMER NOTRE DAME COACH GERRY FAUST TO SIGN BOOKS AT UD BOOKSTORE

DAYTON, Ohio - It seemed a perfect match when Gerry Faust, beloved football coach

of national high school powerhouse Cincinnati Moeller, was hired to bring his winning ways to

the .

After five years and a 30-26-1 record, he resigned.

Faust, a 1958 graduate, shares the stories behind those years at

Notre Dame in a new book, "The Golden Dream," released this fall by Sports Publishing, a

company of Sagamore Publishing.

He will sign copies of his book from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the UD bookstore on

campus.

When he resigned in 1985, Faust received an outpouring of affection from former

presidents, Super Bowl coaches, players and moms.

In his book, Faust admits his naivete and shares his mistakes such as changing Notre

Dame's offense without considering the players that former coach had left him. He

also talks about his heaven-sent plea for help to legendary Notre Dame coach .

The book is available at the UD bookstore for $22.95.
