However Airfreann is clearly a mis-spelling and the only word it would seem to resemble is Aifreann . 'Mass Court' is a very strange name for a housing development but there seems to be no alternative. Albert Basin Duga Albert PT. Like many house-names it St Patrick's Gardens may have been composed in English to give the impression of a Gaelic name, it is not to be found on Pointer however there is a Lismaine in the parish of Magheralin, Co. Down, 'maine' representing Miacháin in Irish (PNI vol. VI), therefore Miacháin , which is a personal name, has been used to construct an Irish form in this instance, although the second element could also be intended to represent the Irish meán 'middle' also. Ardmore Drive Céide an Aird Mhóir Ardmore clearly represent the Irish An Ard Mór . There are a number of Ardmore place-names in Ireland. FLEMING, M.A. SOMETIME INCUMBENT OF TARTARAGHAN AND DIAMOND AND CHANCELLOR OF ARMAGH CATHEDRAL 2013 The eighth and ninth centuries A.D. were an unsettled period in Irish history, the situation being exacerbated by the arrival of the Vikings1 on these shores in 795, only to return again in increasing numbers to plunder and wreak havoc upon many of the church settlements, carrying off and destroying their treasured possessions. Prior to these incursions the country had been subject to a long series of disputes and battles, involving local kings and chieftains, as a result of which they were weakened and unable to present a united front against the foreigners. According to The Annals of the Four Masters2, under the year 800 we find, “Ard-Macha was plundered thrice in one month by the foreigners, and it had never been plundered by strangers before.” Further raids took place on at least seven occasions, and in 941 they record, “Ard-Macha was plundered by the same foreigners ...” It is, therefore, rather surprising that in spite of so much disruption in various parts of the country, there remained for many people a degree of normality and resilience in daily life, which enabled 1 The Vikings, also referred to as Norsemen or Danes, were Scandinavian seafarers who travelled overseas in their distinctive longships, earning for themselves the reputation of being fierce warriors. The Project title; ‘Terrorism knows NO Borders’ aptly illustrates the broader point that we are seeking to make through our involvement in this work, namely that in the context of Northern Ireland terrorism and criminal violence was not curtailed to Northern Ireland alone but rather that individuals, families and communities experienced its’ impacts across the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and beyond these islands. This Memorial Quilt Project does not claim to represent the totality of lives lost across Great Britain and The Republic of Ireland but rather seeks to provide some understanding of the sacrifices paid by communities, families and individuals who have been victimised by ‘Republican’ or ‘Loyalist’ terrorism. SEFF’s ethos means that we are not purely concerned with victims/survivors who live within south Fermanagh or indeed the broader County.

The first enumeration took place in 1926 and incorporated questions relating to occupation and industry, orphanhood and infirmities. The second enumeration made in 1937 was of more limited scope and was intended to bridge the gap between the census of 1926 and the census which it was proposed to take in 1941, but which had to be abandoned owing to the outbreak of war. The census taken as at mid-night of 8th-9th April, 1951, forms the basis of this report and like that in 1926 questions were asked as to the occupations and industries of the population. The length of time required to process the data collected at an enumeration before it can be presented in the ultimate reports is necessarily considerable. In order to meet immediate requirements, however, two Preliminary Reports on the 1951 census were published. The first of these gave the population figures by administrative areas and towns and villages, and by Counties and County Boroughs according to religious pro­ fession. The Second Report, which was restricted to Counties and County Boroughs, gave the population by age groups.

Net Annual The Net Annual Value (NAV) is an assessment of the annual rental Value (NAV) value of the property. The NAV is assessed at a fixed point in time, which is 1st April 2018. Business rate bills are calculated by multiplying the NAV of a property by the Total Non Domestic rate in the pound for the council area in which the property is located. Summary This is the breakdown of the main valuation elements of the NAV. In Valuation some cases the NAV does not equal the total of the Summary Valuation as other valuation elements are not currently displayed here. LPS can only display the breakdown of valuations for shops, offices, warehouses and factories. Distinguishment A distinguishment refers to a particular usage or characteristic of a property or part of a property. In rating law if a property is classed as having a distinguishment certain reliefs or exemptions are applied to it.
