Qualche conferma, qualche sorpresa, molti nomi stranieri a dare risalto alla manifestazione e poi… e poi leggi che Pietro D’Ali classe ‘63 che pensavamo stesse riposando dopo le fatiche della Solitaire du Figaro, le mille partecipazioni come professionista su cassoni e monotipi… ha preso una Star, l’amico Colaninno e, senza nessun allenamento o preparazione è andato a Formia a scornarsi contro gente come Scheidt, Loof ma soprattuto contro i vari Celon e Negri che da tempo dedicano tutte le loro giornate alla Star, preparandosi per le Olimpiadi. Ha concluso quinto dietro i mostri sacri ma ha vinto tra i nazionali, diciassette anni dopo il suo primo titolo italiano (quell’anno con la star vinse anche l’europeo). Ci fa ricordare quando, durante una lunghissima campagna AC con Luna Rossa si presentò al volo alle qualifazioni olimpiche… nessun allenamento, vinse e alla fine alle olimpiadi Sydney 2000 ci andò! Pietrino è probabilmente il velista più completo che abbiamo in Italia. E l’unico velista italiano che ha partecipato al giro del mondo, alle Olimpiadi, alla finale di Coppa America e agli eventi maggiori adessovela.com/…/petrino-dali-campion… 1/8 27/09/2010 Pietrino D’Ali Campione Italiano Star 20… della grande altura internazionale. Replica Capogita on 27/09/2010 at 10:09 C’è gente che ne sa molti più di me… Tutti conosciamo Pietro come la persona più “Pane e Vela” che esista in Italia, ma certamente riferire qualche sua chicca può essere pertinente. Restando alla Star, posso citarne uno che mi è stato riferito e non diretto; a una regata, poco prima della partenza, rompe la drizza della randa: regata finita? No, basta arrampicarsi in testa d’albero (immagino dopo aver dato una bella tirata di sartie…) e fare un nodo con il cavetto d’acciaio… Uno invece vissuto in prima persona, che dimostra come Pietro abbia in testa un Hard Disk con memorizzato ogni momento di vela della sua vita (quasi da autistico). Campionato Europeo Beneteau 25 a Riva del Garda (2003), è la mia ultima regata in Beneteau 25, visto che ho già comprato il Melges 24, ho fatto tutta la stagione con Paolo Semeraro come tattico e le sue super performanti vele, e decido di lasciare il timone a Pietrino, che sta tornando dalla Germania con la Star, per provare a vincere l’Europeo. Prima di una delle regate, si accende la discussione tra Pietro e Paolo (c’era un bel numero di apostoli a bordo..) su come impostare la regata, con Ora entrante: Pietro parte a dire “mi ricordo che nella prima prova del terzo giorno di regate della tal regata di 470, nella prima bolina il vento si stava distendendo….”, Paolo lo interrompe dicendogli “Pietrino, sono passati 20 anni, come cazzo fai a ricordarti che prova era e che giorno era?”. Ma lui state certi che ha una memoria da elefante su tutte le regate che ha fatto, ed evidentemente da un punto di vista tattico questo è un bagaglio enorme e utilissimo. In 2008, Artemis Racing entered the RC44 Championship, winning the fleet racing element in 2009 and the World title in 2011.
