Table of Contents New Bidding Instructions - 2 Art, Crafts, Jewelry - 3 Lunch, Brunch & Dinner - 4 Parties - 6 Food & Treats - 10 Services & Instructions - 10 Excursions - 13 Trips & Vacations - 14 Memorabilia - 15 Baskets - 18 Miscellaneous Items - 18 UUFH Offerings - 20 1 How to Bid Bidding is basically the same as in the past. • The highest bid(s) on an item wins. • In case of a tie, the earliest bid wins. However, this year we are setting increments in a chart format for your convenience and ours. You will be able to see at a glance how high the bidding is, how many are bidding at that level and we will be able to determine the winners more easily and accurately. Write your Bid # in the appropriate column next to the amount you want to bid. If more than 1 item is available, place your Bid# in the first column, starting from the left, next to the amount you want to bid. Here is an example of a dinner for 6 people: Price Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6 18 #21 #22 #10 #48 #29 #84 20 #127 #36 22 #142 #56 #56 If bidding stopped at this point, the 6 winning bids would be those outlined above and would be figured out this way: • Bidders #142 and 56 have 3 slots because they bid the most. • Bidders #127 and 36 bid the next highest amounts. • We need one more bidder, so the first one who bid $18 gets it—Bidder #21 bid that amount first, so he/she wins the item. The moral of the story is CHECK ITEMS YOU’RE INTERESTED IN DURING THE EVENING TO SEE WHETHER YOU NEED TO RAISE YOUR BID! There is NO limit as to how many times you may bid on an item. 2 Art/Crafts/Jewelry 100 Beaded Earrings Quantity: 20 $10 each. • The HARVARD LAMPOON Goes NATIONAL
The HARVARD LAMPOON goes NATIONAL by “Kevin” Note from the editor: I trimmed about ten pages out of this article and streamlined it a bit, but almost all the research was done by Kevin. I only added a few lines of genealogy and fact-checked a few things. —Miles First published May 15, 2016. This is all opinion, arrived at by private research on the internet. The following research was conducted in an attempt to expose the National Lampoon franchise as an Intelligence Psyop. Many believe that the National Lampoon Magazine was simply an organic response to the events of the 1960's. Since we now know that Elvis, Dylan and the Beatles were not who we thought they were and that the Kennedy and Manson events were manufactured, it may be this is also part of the same program of desensitization and misdirection of the American people—i.e. Operation Chaos. National Lampoon started out as a spinoff from the Harvard Lampoon. The Harvard Lampoon is an undergraduate humor magazine founded in 1876 and is the second longest continually published humor magazine. Note the date. That is the date of the Custer hoax as well as the founding of the Jehovah's Witnesses. It is also the Centennial, which is why it was such a busy year for Intel. An important line of demarcation came in 1969 when Harvard Lampoon editors Douglas Kenney and Henry Beard wrote the Tolkien parody Bored of the Rings. The success of this book and the attention it brought its authors led directly to the creation of the National Lampoon magazine.

From: Reviews and Criticism of Vietnam War Theatrical and Television Dramas (http://www.lasalle.edu/library/vietnam/FilmIndex/home.htm) compiled by John K. McAskill, La Salle University ([email protected]) N2825 NATIONAL LAMPOON’S ANIMAL HOUSE (USA, 1978) (Other titles: American college; Animal house) Credits: director, John Landis ; writers, Harold Ramis, Douglas Kenney, Chris Miller. Cast: John Belushi, Tim Matheson, John Vernon, Thomas Hulce. Summary: Comedy film set at a 1960s Middle Western college. The members of Delta Tau Chi fraternity offend the straight-arrow and up-tight people on campus in a film which irreverently mocks college traditions. One of the villains is an ROTC cadet who, it is noted at the end of the film, was later shot by his own men in Vietnam. Ansen, David. “Movies: Gross out” Newsweek 92 (Aug 7, 1978), p. 85. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS HOLLYWOOD LIVE: NATIONAL LAMPOON’S ANIMAL HOUSE HOSTED BY DIRECTOR JOHN LANDIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 Richmond, BC – Award-winning director John Landis is known worldwide for such blockbuster films as The Kentucky Fried Movie, The Blue Brothers, An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places and National Lampoon’s Animal House. He also wrote and directed the groundbreaking theatrical short, Michael Jackson’s Thriller in 1983. With its script, transformational storyline and Hollywood production values, Thriller changed MTV and reinvented the concept of music videos forever. It also garnered multiple accolades including the MTV Video Music Award for “Best Overall Video.” In 1991, Landis collaborated once again with Jackson on the music video for “Black or White.” That same year, he was inducted into the Music Video Production Association’s Hall of Fame. Landis has also directed several feature length documentaries including Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project which aired on HBO in 2007 and for which he won two Emmy Awards. It was in the summer of 1978 when Landis hit a box office homerun with National Lampoon’s Animal House. The comedy film – which is set in 1962 on the campus of Faber College in Faber, Pennsylvania – focusses on a misfit group of fraternity men who challenge their college’s administrators. It was adapted by Douglas Kenney, Chris Miller and Harold Ramis from stories written by Miller and published in National Lampoon magazine based on their fraternity experiences. The film not only introduced the late John Belushi in his feature film debut as John “Bluto” Blutarsky but also featured several future stars including Stephen Furst, Peter Riegert, Thomas Hulce, Tim Matheson, Karen Allen and Kevin Bacon.

  • National Lampoon's Animal House
“National Lampoon’s Animal House” (1978) An Interview with Tim Matheson It was 20 years ago that the Library of Congress added “National Lampoon’s Animal House” to the National Film Registry. Originally released in 1978 and inducted in 2001, “Animal House” remains one of the most quoted and iconic comedy films in history. In his book, “America’s Film Legacy: The Authoritative Guide To The Landmark Movies In The National Film Registry,” author Daniel Eagan says “National Lampoon’s Animal House” has become one of the most influential comedies of the 1970’s. Embraced by younger viewers, it has been used as a blueprint by a succeeding generation of comedy filmmakers.” In addition to helping launch the careers of Kevin Bacon, Karen Allen, Bruce McGill, Tom Hulce, and Peter Reigert; the film showcases a shift in the American fraternity culture; started an on-the-floor dance craze to the Isley Brothers’ “Shout”; turned the fictitious Otis Day and the Knights into a touring band; and produced a script full of one-liners that are still repeated daily by movie fans and college students all over the world. Directed by John Landis and written by Harold Ramis, Douglas Kenney and Chris Miller, “Animal House” was born from the popular “National Lampoon” magazine, a spoof on Harvard University’s “Harvard Lampoon.” Harold Ramis knew John Belushi from Second City and “Saturday Night Live,” and wrote the part of Bluto with Belushi in mind. Donald Sutherland, the most famous and highest paid actor in the film, was cast as the beloved professor.
