2019 Annual Auction Gala Catalog

UU Fellowship of Huntington presents the 2019 Annual Auction Gala Catalog Saturday, November 16, 2019 ~~ Dinner 6pm – 7:30pm Auction 7:30pm – 9:30pm Welcome to our 2019 Auction Gala You are participating in UUFH’s major fundraiser and our biggest social event of the year! The Auction fosters connections between and among Members throughout the year. It also will offer items for your Holiday shopping! You make the Auction a success with your participation. A tradition since 1978, the money we raise tonight helps fund operations, and with your annual pledge, it helps the Fellowship provide the services and support that are the cornerstones of the UUFH Mission, Vision, Covenant and UU Principles. We hope you will enjoy the various changes – new name, new caterer and menu, gift baskets and centerpieces in addition to the Raffle Baskets and finally, the special sports and entertainment memorabilia that can help with your Holiday shopping. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Auction, worked on its organization and made purchases. Let the fun begin! Please enjoy the dinner, conversation, bidding and the hours of pleasure from your winnings. Thank you from the Auction Committee Personal Statements and invoices will be available as soon as possible. Balances may be paid by cash, check, direct debit or credit card. In fact, the Finance Committee will make it very convenient to settle your Auction Gala invoices this year. Speak with us about an easy payment. Table of Contents New Bidding Instructions - 2 Art, Crafts, Jewelry - 3 Lunch, Brunch & Dinner - 4 Parties - 6 Food & Treats - 10 Services & Instructions - 10 Excursions - 13 Trips & Vacations - 14 Memorabilia - 15 Baskets - 18 Miscellaneous Items - 18 UUFH Offerings - 20 1 How to Bid Bidding is basically the same as in the past. • The highest bid(s) on an item wins. • In case of a tie, the earliest bid wins. However, this year we are setting increments in a chart format for your convenience and ours. You will be able to see at a glance how high the bidding is, how many are bidding at that level and we will be able to determine the winners more easily and accurately. Write your Bid # in the appropriate column next to the amount you want to bid. If more than 1 item is available, place your Bid# in the first column, starting from the left, next to the amount you want to bid. Here is an example of a dinner for 6 people: Price Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6 18 #21 #22 #10 #48 #29 #84 20 #127 #36 22 #142 #56 #56 If bidding stopped at this point, the 6 winning bids would be those outlined above and would be figured out this way: • Bidders #142 and 56 have 3 slots because they bid the most. • Bidders #127 and 36 bid the next highest amounts. • We need one more bidder, so the first one who bid $18 gets it—Bidder #21 bid that amount first, so he/she wins the item. The moral of the story is CHECK ITEMS YOU’RE INTERESTED IN DURING THE EVENING TO SEE WHETHER YOU NEED TO RAISE YOUR BID! There is NO limit as to how many times you may bid on an item. 2 Art/Crafts/Jewelry 100 Beaded Earrings Quantity: 20 $10 each.
