The FIBA Road to Competition System: 2019 FIBA Basketball The 2017-2021 Cycle World Cup & 2021 FIBA • Over a four-year cycle (2017-2021), national teams will 2017 play regular home and away games to qualify for the 2019 Asia Cup FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup will be the start • The teams in the Asia region, which includes teams from of the new FIBA Oceania, will be classified into Division A and Division B Competition System to qualify for both the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup & Calendar and the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup • Division B teams will play at the same time as Division A teams to qualify for the Qualifiers of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup which start in November 2019 #FIBAWC • For the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, 2019 there will be 80 teams from the four regions of Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia which will include Oceania FIBA Basketball • Home and away games will be played in six windows World Cup in China to qualify for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup • Each window will be 9 days long, starting on a Monday and finishing on the Tuesday of the following week • FIBA Basketball World Cup: 32 teams: China (Host Country) + 7 from Asia region + 5 teams from Africa + 7 from the Americas + 12 from Europe The FIBA Basketball World Cup will qualify teams for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games directly or through 4 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. • Qualification for the 2021 FIBA Continental Cups will 2021 begin in the Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia regions immediately after the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup FIBA Continental • Four windows to qualify for the 2021 FIBA Continental Cups Cups - November 2019, February and November 2020, and February 2021 After the 2021 FIBA Continental Cups, the four-year cycle FIBA – International (2021-2025) begins once again with the 2023 FIBA Basketball Basketball Federation Asia World Cup Qualifiers starting in November 2021. Australian U17 Men’s Team Expressions of Interest – Assistant Coach Basketball Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest for the position/s of Assistant Coach of the Australian Under 17 Men (“The Crocs”) The term of appointment will be from October 25, 2018 to September 30, 2019 and will include the FIBA Oceania U15 Championships December 3-8, 2018 and FIBA Asia Under 16 Cup (dates TBA) These tournaments are phases one and two in qualification for the 2020 FIBA World Cup for Under 17 Men. The appointed staff would continue through this event on pursuant on qualifying through the Asia Cup stage and a performance review. Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Coach of the Australian U17 Men’s Team will be responsible for: • Assisting in the technical preparation and planning for the team • Attendance at preparation camps and all team related events • Assisting the Head Coach in selection of the athletes for international events • Assisting the Head Coach during games; • High level competency in video analysis (preferably SportsCode) and prepare scouting material as required by the Head Coach; • All other areas which are seen by the Head Coach to be relevant to the team’s performance at International competition • Liaise, where appropriate and under the direction of the Head Coach, with the club coaches and other officials of the teams of the athletes selected for the program; • Representing the team with media as required. The assistant coach will work at the direction of the U17 Men’s Head Coach. Desired Experience and skill set – • Demonstrated experience coaching elite youth men’s basketball • Experience in coaching at the NBL or SEABL/QBL/WABL/Waratah etc level • Coaching experience at Australian Junior Championships • Actively coaching in the BA NPP or State Performance Programs • High level technical skills • Understanding of the Basketball Australia style of play philosophy Remuneration This is a voluntary role and brings a small honorarium.

Original Article Difference-based analysis of the impact of observed game parameters on the final score at the FIBA Eurobasket Women 2019 SLOBODAN SIMOVIĆ1 , JASMIN KOMIĆ2, BOJAN GUZINA1, ZORAN PAJIĆ3, TAMARA KARALIĆ1, GORAN PAŠIĆ1 1Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2Faculty of Economy, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina 3Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, University of Belgrade, Serbia ABSTRACT Evaluation in women's basketball is keeping up with developments in evaluation in men’s basketball, and although the number of studies in women's basketball has seen a positive trend in the past decade, it is still at a low level. This paper observed 38 games and sixteen variables of standard efficiency during the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2019. Two regression models were obtained, a set of relative percentage and relative rating variables, which are used in the NBA league, where the dependent variable was the number of points scored. The obtained results show that in the first model, the difference between winning and losing teams was made by three variables: true shooting percentage, turnover percentage of inefficiency and efficiency percentage of defensive rebounds, which explain 97.3%, while for the second model, the distinguishing variables was offensive efficiency, explaining for 96.1% of the observed phenomenon. There is a continuity of the obtained results with the previous championship, played in 2017. Of all the technical elements of basketball, it is still the shots made, assists and defensive rebounds that have the most significant impact on the final score in European women’s basketball.
