Issue

Vilnius Airport in Lithuania (VNO) will close due to reconstruction from 14 July 2017 to 17 August 2017. During this time scheduled airlines operating from VNO have transferred operations to Airport (KUN), and published schedules have been updated. Travel agents or interline partner airlines searching for availability from or to VNO will not find scheduled flights during this period. Due to the limited time period and impact on mileage and pricing, no change to metropolitan area coding will be made by IATA.

Action Required by Airlines

All airlines operating out of VNO, or selling VNO on an interline basis, should ensure that all travel agents and interline partners in all markets are fully briefed of this issue, and that fare filing has been updated as required.

IATA has separately engaged with all major GDS and CRS systems to ensure they are aware of this issue and can also communicate with their users, and develop system solutions as appropriate.
