PCAWA State Showjumping Championships

Held over two days in May at the State Equestrian Centre, the PCAWA State Showjumping Championships is a weekend packed full of action. Pony Club members are able to compete in a wide range of individual and team events including AM7, optimum time, power and speed, and equitation classes. The more relaxed events such as jigsaw pairs and the evening entertainment of jigsaw pairs are a lot of fun and provide a bit relief from the pressure of the main competition. Team events cater for both club and zone and are the more prestigious events of the Championships. Essentially the same things were judged in the jumping rounds, with scope and technique added to the mix. “There was a very good standard of young horses – and the right number in each group,” said Chris Chugg who judged the horses on paper and also rode each age-group winner at the end of the individual classes (with a video cam attached to his helmet by Redfoto.TV) to help determine the overall 2013 Horseland Young Horse .
