I am enclosing some “Keepsake” items from the Billy Holcomb Chapter for your E Clampus Vitus section of the Special Collections.

The Keepsakes are produced for members to read some of the history in the areas of our domain. Our area of coverage is Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. We have combined efforts with other chapters at times and have plaques located in Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

In addition to providing Keepsakes for the events which we erect historical markers, we also provide them for our Vituscan 4X4 trips and our H.E.M.O.R.R.H.O.l.D. excursions. Oh... I had better let you know what the acronym means.

The New York Times ran a story about the history of E Clampus Vitus, a nearly 200-year-old club for California history fanatics who also like to drink. Pacific archivist Michael Wurtz was quoted in the story talking about how Pacific has helped preserve some of the earliest papers of the group for historical and research purposes. Series IV, containing 1 box, consists of materials pertaining to organization’s Landmarks Program. Series V, containing 1 box, consists of organization memorabilia. Series VI, containing 2 boxes, consists of copies of organization publication, "T.R.A.S.H.". Series VII, containing 6 boxes, consists of biographical materials on founders.
