Fr. Krizner, the Entire Parish Staff and Lily & Gracie! GOOD MORNING! GOOD AFTERNOON!

HANK YOU for joining us T for our Eve and Christmas Day Celebration of Eucharist! Though the Church was some- what packed there is always ‘room in this inn’ for you and yours. The joy of this celebra- tion of His Birth is enhanced by your presence! Merry Christmas!

hank you to Our Music Minis- T ters and the Orchestra for the beautiful Christmas Carols and hymns which added such splendor to the Liturgies! Thank you also for the wonderful /Christmas Concert held on December 14th! Your song of praise adds much to our Par- ish Family and the holidays! On Christmas Day it just seems right to remember the final scene of A by Charles Dickens. It is the absolute perfect reminder that with all things considered the Christmas Spirit excels among family and in charity. Before this day ends take a few minutes with this awesome and time- less classic. Enjoy this excerpt from Charles Dickens, word for word! - Fr. Krizner “’Now, I’ll tell you what, my friend,’ said Scrooge,’ I am not going to stand this sort of thing any longer. And therefore,’ he continued, leaping from his stool, and giving Bob such a dig in the waistcoat that he staggered back into the Tank again;’ and therefore I am about to raise your salary.’

Bob trembled, and got a little nearer to the ruler. He had a mo- mentary idea of knocking Scrooge down with it, holding him, and calling to the people in the court for help and a strait-waistcoat.

`A merry Christmas, Bob,’ said Scrooge, with an earnestness that could not be mistaken, as he clapped him on the back. `A merrier Christmas, Bob, my good fellow, than I have given you for many a year. I’ll raise your salary, and endeavor to assist your struggling family, and we will discuss your affairs this very afternoon, over a Christmas bowl of smoking , Bob. Make up the fires, and buy another coal-scuttle before you dot another i, Bob Cratchit.’

Scrooge was better than his word. He did it all, and infinitely more; and to Tiny Tim, who did not die, he was a second father. He became as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man, as the good old city knew, or any other good old city, town, or borough, in the good old world. Some people laughed to see the alteration in him, but he let them laugh, and little heeded them; for he was wise enough to know that nothing ever happened on this globe, for good, at which some people did not have their fill of laughter in the outset; and knowing that such as these would be blind anyway, he thought it quite as well that they should wrinkle up their eyes in grins, as have the malady in less attractive forms. His own heart laughed: and that was quite enough for him.

He had no further intercourse with Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterwards; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!”

-Charles Dickens, D ear Parish Family, Somehow these holidays allow us to both celebrate and contemplate our many blessings. It is so important to remember that the Birth of is just a ‘part of the story’. In the weeks ahead we will remember the Magi’s visit, the Baptism of the Lord, and we will celebrate the Mission and Ministry of Jesus and ultimately we will arrive at a remembrance of WHY He came….the Passion, death and Resurrection! Jesus endures the very same life cycle that each of us begin at our own birth. The true wonder and beauty of Christmas is in the historical fact that Jesus was born, lived, died, and rose again! The gift of Christ- mas is Jesus, Lord and Living God! So as the GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO rings out throughout the world we are reminded that over two thousand years ago our God became man! We’ll celebrate this throughout the Ordinary Weeks of the Church Year until we arrive at the Easter Festival—that same Jesus, died, rose, and returned to the Father to prepare a dwelling place for each of us who be- lieve and hold fast to our faith. I hope your Christmas holidays are filled with the gifts that Jesus alone can bring— life, light, peace, hope, and love eternal! May God, our God bless you!

n a personal note: thank you for your many greetings and kind- O nesses and prayers! Your thoughtfulness and generosity to the parish and (to me, Lily & Grace) has added to this celebration of Christmas. Thank you ever so much! Every blessing in return!

Fr. Krizner, Lily & Gracie

C hristmas Dinner Prayer

Loving God and Father of us all, we joyfully celebrate the birth of your Son, the eternal Word who came to dwell with us and is born this day of the Virgin Mary. May the meal we share on this great feast satisfy us not only with the good food you give us, but also grace us with the fullness of your love, which you bestowed on our human nature when your Son be- came Man. May we come to share completely in your divine life through the coming of your Son among us. May his self-giving love be made manifest in our hearts so that the joy of our Christmas feast may extend beyond our family and home to touch the lives of others with the love that makes this day holy and makes us all children of one family in you. Amen. 2016 ST. COLETTE December 25, 2016 “Christmas Day” BRUNSWICK, OH
