Media Check-In and Access Carson City Hearing Location

All media representatives who have sent credentials will be given access to a controlled area on the south parking lot adjoining the building where the Parole Board offices reside. A Parole Board issued badge will be needed to gain entry on July 20th.

Wednesday Arrivals: The Parole Board will begin checking-in media personnel and issuing the press badges beginning 9AM on Wednesday, July 19 from the Lobby of the main parole board entrance (north side of building).

Thursday Arrivals: Check-in beginning 7:00 AM at the entrance to the parking lot on the south side of the building. This area will be patrolled with access control provided by Nevada Capitol Police.

Group leaders may check in all media representatives from their respective organization rather than each individual person having to check-in.

Three access levels of badges will be issued: Level 1 access badge has access to the parole hearing room where the hearing will actually take place. Level 1 also has access to the press conference room and the media area on the south side of the building. Level 2 access badges have access to the press conference room and the media area on the south side of the building. Level 3 access badges have access to the media area on the south side of the building and partial access to the interior of the building near the press conference room only.

Level 1 Access – Hearing Room, Press Conference Room, and General Media Area The following personnel have been granted Level 1 access to the physical hearing room in Carson City. Reporters should be onsite and in the hearing room by 9:30AM on July 20, 2017. Level 1 access includes the press conference room.

Level-1 access badges will have the reporters name and organization printed on the badge.

Level 2 Access - Press Conference Room and General Media Area A television monitor to view the hearing will be set up in the press conference room. After the hearing, this room will be used to conduct a press conference. Space in the press conference room is limited because of fire code. Level 2 access badges will have the organization name listed on the badge and each organization may designate one person from their organization to wear the Level 2 badge. In addition to those persons granted level 1 access, the following organizations have been granted level 2 access. Video coverage of the press conference will be filmed by the same camera operators and transmitted via the CNN pool uplink.

Level 3 access – General media area access Individuals on this list are not included on this document. The personnel listed by each organization that submitted advance credentials will be provided badges once on-site in Carson City. A monitor to view the hearing will be set up near the CNN pool truck for those personnel with level 3 access to view the hearing. Level 3 personnel will have some access to the interior of the building in the area near the CNN pool truck.

Porta-potties will be placed in the media access area. Interior restrooms are not accessible to visitors.
