NORTH SHORE RIVERWALK NORTH SHORE PUBLIC SPACES: PROPOSED ROUTE PROPOSAL

• Extend current Riverwalk by 1.1 miles

• Riverwalk along Manufactuer’s Road for portion near US-27 with connections to Renaissance Park

• Riverwalk primarily along the river for portions west of US-27

• Interpretive sites and overlooks

• Updated Riverwalk signage and branding to reflect themes identified by National Park Service

• Connect to and greenways on , Stringer’s Ridge and north to Red Bank

PROJECT 3: RIVERWALK

From the time of the Riverwalk’s inception in the 1980’s, the proposed terminus for this popular path has been Moccasin Bend.

The North Shore Public Spaces project offers the opportunity to implement this connection, accessing the National Park’s 800 acres of recreational, scenic and educational resources.

The proposed North Shore Riverwalk is envisioned as a new shared-use path along or near the north bank of the from Renaissance Park and the North Shore commercial area on the east to the National Park unit Moccasin Bend on the west.

Future development should follow high quality standards consistent with the existing River- walk.
