Comeback Dad
THE UP PREMIERE MOVIE COMEBACK DAD PREMIERES EXCLUSIVELY ON UP SATURDAY, JULY 12 SYNOPSIS In Comeback Dad, Nima Babineaux (Tatyana Ali) looks like a woman who has it all – she is an accomplished pianist who runs her own music school and is engaged to Spence (Brad James), a successful engineer who adores her. But, in truth, she has never recovered from her alcoholic father, Othell (Charles Dutton), walking out on their family and it has made it hard for her to truly trust anyone. When Othell decides it is time to make amends and tries to reenter her life, Nima begins an emotional and eye-opening journey she could have never expected. Loretta Devine stars as Malinda, Othell’s sister. The ensemble cast also includes Donna Brisco, Elizabeth Omilami, Ja’El Robertson, Takara Clark, E. Roger Mitchell, Todd Anthony and Palmer Williams, Jr. Filmed in Atlanta, Comeback Dad is directed and executive produced by nationally-syndicated radio host/writer/producer/director Russ Parr (The Undershepherd, 35 and Ticking) and produced by Swirl Films. The script is by newcomer Kimberly Walker, the Honorable Mention Winner in last year’s UP Faith & Family Screenplay Competition at ABFF. Last year’s Competition Grand Prize screenplay winner Mary Jo’s Candy (working title), is scheduled to go into production in June and premiere later this year on UP. ABOUT THE CAST CHARLES S. DUTTON (“OTHELL”) A graduate of The Yale School of Drama, Charles S. Dutton has a career spanning theater, television and film, and is one of the few actors to earn Tony, Emmy® and Golden Globe nominations for the same role. -

Endthewarondrugs
#EndTheWarOnDrugs April 9, 2013 President Barack H. Obama The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. Washington, DC 20500 Dear Mr. President, Your hard work and leadership on issues affecting the unrepresented classes of people in our nation have served as an inspiration to many of us who hope for brighter futures for all Americans. In that spirit, we believe the time is right to further the work you have done around revising our national policies on the criminal justice system and continue moving from a suppression-based model to one that focuses on intervention and rehabilitation. We are proud of your accomplishments around these issues, specifically your leadership on gun control, your investments in "problem solving courts," your creation of the Federal Interagency Reentry Council, your launching the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention and your prosecution of a record number of hate crimes in 2011 and 2012. We certainly hope that this type of leadership is appreciated by all members of Congress, regardless of political affiliation, and you are joined by members of all parties in your pursuit of a more perfected union. Mr. President, it is evident that you have demonstrated a commitment to pursue alternatives to the enforcement-only "War on Drugs" approach and address the increased incarceration rates for non-violent crimes. Your administration has moved in the right direction by committing increased funds to drug prevention and treatment programs and supporting state and local re-entry grants. We encourage you to continue your efforts to revamp the policies of the last 30 years that have seen the prison population skyrocket. -

Black Women's Music Database
By Stephanie Y. Evans & Stephanie Shonekan Black Women’s Music Database chronicles over 600 Africana singers, songwriters, composers, and musicians from around the world. The database was created by Dr. Stephanie Evans, a professor of Black women’s studies (intellectual history) and developed in collaboration with Dr. Stephanie Shonekon, a professor of Black studies and music (ethnomusicology). Together, with support from top music scholars, the Stephanies established this project to encourage interdisciplinary research, expand creative production, facilitate community building and, most importantly, to recognize and support Black women’s creative genius. This database will be useful for music scholars and ethnomusicologists, music historians, and contemporary performers, as well as general audiences and music therapists. Music heals. The purpose of the Black Women’s Music Database research collective is to amplify voices of singers, musicians, and scholars by encouraging public appreciation, study, practice, performance, and publication, that centers Black women’s experiences, knowledge, and perspectives. This project maps leading Black women artists in multiple genres of music, including gospel, blues, classical, jazz, R & B, soul, opera, theater, rock-n-roll, disco, hip hop, salsa, Afro- beat, bossa nova, soka, and more. Study of African American music is now well established. Beginning with publications like The Music of Black Americans by Eileen Southern (1971) and African American Music by Mellonee Burnim and Portia Maultsby (2006), -

Hollywoodrituals I Am Glad I Am Not Famous Hollywood Transgender
The Truth About the Entertainment Industry - #HollywoodRituals Aug. 27, 2020 Syndicated Columnist www.CathyHarrisInternational.com As a Syndicated Columnist and Investigative Reporter, I loved writing and researching at an early age. My current topic that I have been working on for two months – #HollywoodTrangenderAgenda, has to be the hardest topic that I ever reported on. Others reporting on the topic seem to have a lot of hatred and disrespect while trying to educate others. That is definitely not what I want to attract in my life so I have ended my research on this topic with this post. I have tried my best to be as sensitive as possible when reporting on this topic and I do apologize up-front if I have offended anyone. I Am Glad I Am Not Famous I came close to being famous when I blew the whistle on my job (www.TheCathyHarrisStory.com) and appeared on Oprah’s Oxygen Channel. During this time, I was contacted by Queen Latifah people’s twice to try to get me on her show to tell about the humiliation of black women who travel in and out of this country. I am so glad my life steered me in another direction and kept me on track. Again, in order to be RICH and FAMOUS, Hollywood (aka “The Entertainment Industry”) forces you to live with the same sex person or become inverted by changing your sex, raise inverted kids (raise girls as boys and boys as girls), and now they are attempting to legalize pedophilia and this is indeed a #HollywoodRitual. -
