HOUSTON—Brilliant Lecture Series announces beloved actress Betty White as the next speaker in the “Conversations with Brilliance” series to be held September 22 at Houston’s Cullen Theater, Wortham Center. Betty White will speak at 2:30 and 7 p.m. as part of the same program that brought George Clooney to Houston in May.
“With a career spanning seven decades and a tireless advocate for animals, seven time Emmy Award winner Betty White is a golden example of perseverance, humor, grace, humility and philanthropy,” Founding Director of Brilliant Lecture Series Scott Brogan said. “Recently ranked as the most popular and trusted celebrity in the United States, we are honored to present this rare and candid conversation with an American icon.”
A passionate philanthropist, audiences can expect Betty White to speak about her lifelong work as an advocate for animals in addition to her decades of acting, writing and wisdom acquired over the years—with a dose of her timeless humor. Betty White’s wisdom will motivate, inspire and entertain.

Although she turned 90 in January, it won’t slow down this legend of comedy, one of the funniest and busiest actresses in Hollywood. White’s awards are numerous, and include the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award, the AP Entertainer of the Year in 2010, and being inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 2011.
The most recent of her seven books include “If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won’t)” released in May 2011 that earned Betty a Grammy Award. “Betty & Friends: My Life at the Zoo,” was released in November, 2011.
When White hosted NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in 2010, it was one of the highest-rated episodes in the show’s history, and earned her an Emmy Award for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, bringing White’s Emmy total to seven awards. White is also Executive Producer and Host of the NBC series Off Their Rockers, currently airing on NBC.
