Biography

Ben Winston is known in the UK for producing and directing some of the biggest talent in the world. His production company , which he runs with his three oldest friends, have produced some memorable and award winning television programmes and films since it formed in 2006.

Currently he serves as the Executive Producer and co-creator of “The Late Late Show with " on CBS, America’s number 1 network. He is youngest show runner in the history of late night television in America, at the age of 33. Hollywood Reporter recently named Ben in their “35 under 35,” a list of the 35 “next generation influencers and one’s to watch” in Hollywood.

Ben co-produced his first movie in 2007 at the age of 25. That movie was “In the Hands of the Gods” (Lionsgate). The film became the widest release of a UK cinema documentary of all time. He has produced and directed many television shows including “The Michael McIntyre Chat Show” (BBC1) “ and The Muppets: One Night at The Palladium”(BBC1),“This is ” (ITV1), “: A Year In The Making,” and the record breaking 8 hour marathon show “1D Day." In 2014, he was Exec Producer of “” in the UK, the most successful entertainment show on British TV, winning best programme at the National Television Awards.

In 2012 Ben travelled across the world with musician , after being requested by to make the official song for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The two men travelled across four continents finding musicians who would have the opportunity to play their instruments on the song. Ben exec produced and directed the film "Gary Barlow: On Her Majesty's Service" while Gary wrote and produced the song. Both were a hit.

The film was the most watched single documentary of the year, while the song "Sing" captured the hearts of the nation and remained at number 1 in the charts for three weeks.

Ben co-directed the 3D documentary movie, “JLS: Eyes Wide Open” which opened on over 400 screens across the UK. At the time it was the biggest grossing music cinema release of all time in the UK.

It was beaten by the next film he produced, the One Direction hit movie "This Is Us” for Columbia Pictures, which broke records around the globe.

Last year he was also Associate Producer for Fulwell 73’s “The Class of 92” starring , for Universal Studios, a DVD best seller in the UK. His most recent movie was the One Direction Movie Sequel “Where We Are” which opened in theatres last year.

He has directed many commercials and music videos which led to him winning an MTV VMA Moonman for his One Direction video ".” He is the first ever director to win two in consecutive years for Best Video of the Year, which he won in 2014 and 2015.

His work with his James Corden has been extensive. Since becoming closest of friends on a set at the age of 17, together they have created “James Corden’s World Cup Live,” (ITV1) “When Corden Met Barlow” (BBC1) “When Robbie Met James” (Sky One). Ben has also produced James as the host of the prestigious Brits Awards for four years. For Red Nose Day on BBC1, he directed and co-wrote many memorable Smithy (Corden’s created character) sketches working with everyone from to Paul Macartney, David Beckham to Gordon Brown.

In March 2015, he started his new venture with James, as Executive Producer of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” for CBS. The show has been a huge hit. With regular audience watching every night, as well as over 800 million YouTube views for the show, it has fast become a staple for the American audience. , a concept created by Winston and Corden, has been hugely successful. James singing with is the highest viewed clip in the history of late night television.
