Sign from Above the Entrance Doors to the Band Building* ‘Jay Brewer Shirt’

For 31 years the band crammed into a fourth floor rehearsal “ROOM” in the band dormitory – capacity for only 200 bandsmen. Enlarged in 1965 – it was still not big enough and the acoustics were terrible. In 1970 a new rehearsal hall was built to hold 300 members. It was dedicated to EV Adams in 1973 – the same year of his retirement after 27 years of being “The Colonel” to thousands of band members... many (or most) entered the “band hall” and walked under this familiar and loved sign “HOME OF THE FIGHTIN’ AGGIE BAND” 13x17 framed, hand painted by Wens ’79 depicting the Bugle Banner
