Part I

1. The Principal’s Report (2 pages)- Highlights the key activities, events, and successes of the past year and briefly describes major new initiatives to be undertaken over the next year.

Govt College Soyat Kalan started in 2018 in the building of a local Higher Secondary School with a meagre strength of 228 students. BA and B.Sc. Initially only available sourses are B.A. and B. Sc. (Bio, Maths, Computer science). Soyat Kalan is a back ward, rural area where even today the people are not aware of the importance of education. Particularly the girls still have to struggle for education in spite of their talent. Under such constraints we aim at providing an educational climate which is congenial for an all-round development of the students. Increasing strength of the students with loud able accomplishments in academic, curricular, co-curricular activities have added a feather to the cap of the principal. We aim to introducing many new courses, such as Graduation with Biology, Maths with Computer and Arts. Due to the dearth of academic, clerical and menial staff, though this development seems to be a distant dream, still we assure a rich harvest if these hurdles could be overcome with the cooperation of the Higher Education Department.

1. Overview (1 page) (i) Vision, Mission and Objectives of the college

❖ Vision :- To get good NAAC grade through developing excellence in education and all-round development of the students.

❖ Mission:- The mission of the college is:- • to provide quality education in support of policies of department of Higher Education

• Developing students who are socially and economically aware of their responsibilities. • To develop employable and entrepreneurially inclined graduates

❖ Objectives:- To prepare the students enriched with knowledge, self-confidence and to make them sensitive towards fundamental human values .To encourage girls students towards computer awareness and to go for higher studies for procuring good jobs.

(ii) Brief introduction of the college (including the status (Govt. / Lead/ Constituent/ Affiliated/ Private),Parent University, UGC recognition, CPE status, etc), location & campus area The Govt. College Soyat Kalan, is in the south area of Agar-Malwa sub geographical region of Madhya-Pradesh, is about 125 km from Ujjain being the nearest rail head. This college came in to existence on July 2018, it caters under graduate programme in humanities and Science (both in Biology and Maths group) and Computer Science also started. The college is affiliated to Vikram University, Ujjain and is governed by the Higher Education department of Madhya-Pradesh. Initially it is functioning in a Govt. Higher Secondary School. The objective behind establishing a college was keeping in view the traditional out- look of the populace having a low litracey in the region with a pre dominentlly high percentage of rural population. Another reason was the student’s empowerment and to create awareness about social evils and their eradication .

(iii) History of the college with significant milestones

Government College, Soyat Kalan, was established in 2018 for response to the dire need of young pillars of the nation, especially of the middle and back ward sections of the society who insisted of academic brilliance had no hope for higher education. The college provides education in all the two faculties – Science, and Arts. It’s an undergraduate college. Initially it is functioning in a Govt. Higher Secondary School, Dushera Maidan, Pirava Road Soyat Kalan. The college has been striving to cater to the need of the students coming from rural back ground. Most students come from economically and academically weak back ground, but college takes this back ground of the students as a challenge and aims at providing the students with the best education with holistic approach. It grooms the students in to becoming responsible citizens of the Nation. They are taught to be humble and sensitive towards society.
