All information in this leaflet was correct at the time of going to print. BOROUGH COUNCIL SEASON TICKETS

● Do you struggle every morning finding change for your child’s bus fare? ● Do you want to save money? ● Do you want to avoid your child losing their bus fare at school? ● Then consider purchasing a season ticket for your child. This leaflet details the information you may need. ● If you or your child regularly uses a school bus, operated on a contracted basis on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, you may wish to purchase a season ticket for that service. (Subject to availability).

WHAT DOES MY SEASON TICKET ENTITLE ME TO? Your season ticket entitles you to one return journey per day between the stops detailed on the season ticket and between the dates shown on the season ticket, on school days only. If the service detailed on the ticket can not be used you may travel on any service operated under contract to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council between the points detailed on your season ticket.

HOW LONG IS THE SEASON TICKET VALID FOR? Season tickets may be purchased for a term or an academic year with a discount of 10%. Season tickets can also be purchased after the start date for the remainder of the term or academic year, but will not qualify for the 10% discount. Season tickets are calculated based on 190 school days per academic year, at a daily rate of £2.50 return, which equates to £475.00 per year. Example (based on daily child fare): £2.50 x 190 days = £475.00 - 10% (£47.50) = £427.50

Season tickets may be purchased for a.m. or p.m. only journeys. In this case the price will be based on the single fare multiplied by the number of school days for which the ticket is valid. A 10% discount is then deducted. If you wish to enquire about or to purchase a season ticket please contact the Council direct on (01254) 585003. You can pay by cheque, postal order and credit/debit card. Bus operators are no longer able to issue season tickets.

Copies of all home to school transport timetables are available online at www.blackburn.gov.uk

There are also a number of route maps showing the routes for each school service.
