The maximum 17 players allowed to the WAFL Eagles do not include Category B recruits Patrick Bines and Brodie Riach. However, one of the riders attached to the qualification criteria is that should West Coast or Fremantle be in action on the same finals weekend in which the Eagles or Peel have a WAFL final then there is no maximum quota requirement and the local league clubs can play as many – or as few – AFL-listed players as they desire. \\ Tom North (PT) There is also provision for West Coast and Fremantle to field an AFL- listed player who hasn’t met the qualification criteria in a WAFL final on submission of a request to the WAFC. But to be granted approval the AFL clubs would need a very good reason and that player must be included in each team’s maximum quota. On a more general note, any league players must have featured in five reserves matches (with no stipulation of when those games were registered) to be eligible for a finals fixture in the lower grade. Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Elise and the Gold Gloop by S.B. Davies S.B. Davies. At the age of six, my daughter was a good reader for her age, but refused to start reading “proper books” with chapters and no pictures. She was bored with “Horrid Henry” and fairies saving a rainbow yet once more and insisted that she was old enough to read proper books, but every one she tried was “too difficult”. It wasn’t she couldn’t read them, it was the concepts and storylines; they were all designed for nine and ten year olds. There was another problem too. She wanted to read about girls, yet all the books about girls we could find were twee and dull. My daughter is happy to read about a princess, along as she is a Ninja Princess; happy to save rainbows, as long as it involves a good sword fight or perhaps a well-planned heist. After a few months of this, my lovely daughter stopped reading. We tried most of the “first chapter books” that people recommend; all met with disinterest. So I asked her exactly what she wanted in a “proper book”. After much though, she wrote down: “Dragons, princess, zombies, vampires, ghosts, but not spiders and it should be funny and scary and have fighting in it.” We couldn’t find such a book with concepts and vocabulary suitable for a six year old – so I wrote one. I had written novels before, but not a children’s book, so I had help from my daughter to find the right level.

  • AFL Vic Record Week 4.Indd
VFL Round 1 14 - 17 April 2017 $3.00 Photo: Cameron Grimes New VFL season begins Welcome to season 2017 in the Peter Jackson VFL. Plenty has happened since last September when Footscray was crowned premier. We have seen 13 VFL players provided with an AFL opportunity, selected in the 2016 NAB AFL national and rookie draft s. Casey and Geelong both produced three draft ees, with Coburg, Footscray and North Ballarat providing two draft ees each. The pleasing aspect has been seeing the likes of Tom Stewart, Mitch Hannan, Robbie Fox and Tim Smith debut in the early rounds of the AFL season. The competition this year will feature 14 clubs, with Frankston not provided a VFL licence for the 2017 season. The club has had a rich history of providing a pathway and opportunities for footballers in the region – none more evident than the debut for Sydney in recent weeks of 2014 Fothergill-Round Medal winner Nic Newman. However, it was decided at the end of last year that without the necessary off -field structures in place, AFL Victoria was not confident financial projections provided by the club could be met. We have a strong willingness to ensure there is a VFL presence in the region into the future, but it must be viable and sustainable both on and off the field in the long term. This has been highlighted in the regular communication AFL Victoria has had with the new board at the club. In other pre-season news, at the VFL Season Launch last week we revealed there will be a triple-header of matches for the 2017 Victorian state league Grand Final day at Etihad Stadium on Sunday September 24.

SUBMISSION TO THE PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE INQUIRY ON THE USE OF STATE FUNDING BY THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL COMMISSION (WAFC) IN ITS ROLE AS CARETAKER OF FOOTBALL IN WA This submission to the Public Accounts Committee inquiry is provided by the Western Australian Amateur Football League Inc. (trading as Perth Football League) on behalf of our League and the sixty-nine ‘grassroots’ community-based Member Clubs that comprise it (“the Perth Football League”). The submission includes specific responses to the three elements of the inquiry’s Terms of Reference. In support of those responses, we provide further detail and context about the Perth Football League and our affiliate relationship with WA Football Commission (“WAFC”), as well as providing recommendations which support the ongoing sustainable and effective use of State funds to develop football across all levels in WA. To the extent that the Public Accounts Committee may seek further detail on any of the information provided in this submission and/or seek a formal deputation to be provided on behalf of the Perth Football League, we stand ready and willing to assist the inquiry to the extent that the Committee may so require. SPECIFIC RESPONSES TO TERMS OF REFERENCE A) How effectively State funds have been used to develop football across all levels Perth Football League maintains that the state of ‘our game’ is broadly positive in Western Australia. COVID-19 has presented significant challenges for all industries, including volunteer-based community clubs and peak State Sporting Associations (“SSAs”) alike. However, key data and KPIs have been tracking in the right direction for many years when it comes to the WAFC developing football across all levels in WA.

  • Round 1 July 18, 2020 Official Publication of the Wafl $3.00
OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE WAFL $3.00 ROUND 1 JULY 18, 2020 like no other When the ball is bounced across various WAFL venues on Saturday, it will be exactly 124 days since football in this state was turned on its head by the Coronavirus pandemic. Players have had their longest ever preseasons, coaches have tried to plan for the unplannable and backroom staff were presented with challenges no-one could have seen coming. Finally, footy is back. It really will be a season like no other in 2020; nine-rounds, 16-minute quarters, no West Coast Eagles or AFL-listed players, a top-four and three weeks of finals. The Optus WAFL has never looked like it will on Saturday, July 18, but the elements of the game we love will still be apparent. We look forward to seeing Subiaco attempt the elusive three-peat. The midfield of Horsley, Kitchin and Delahunty is truly worth the price of admission. What will the big three inclusions of Chris u Lachlan Delahunty Masten, Brady Grey and Fraser McInnes 2019 Sandover Medallist do for Perth. It’s been 30 years but is the wait for finals footy nearly over? South Fremantle return with a chip on their shoulder and look hungrier than ever to atone for Grand Final day. The Tigers added to an already powerful list and look ready to take the next step. Swan Districts have created a strong mix of youth and experience as they look to charge up the ladder, while WAFL admission prices This publication is proudly produced by the WA Football DID YOU KNOW? $15 – Adult* Commission.
