(,l~l~S Las \kgas -Los Angeles· Cleveland ......aT'B.. · --· CA81ND Meeting for the first time in the history of either sch ool, UNLV will start five players on each unit who were on ~-- last year's team against the Bears. The Rebels, 1-1 0 last year, will start eight seniors, eight juniors, five sophomores and one freshman aga inst an JACK SCA team, 2-7-1 a year ago, that has 56 freshmen on a squad of 83. MATTHEWS REAL ESTATE This will be the second season for SCA coach Ken Stephens and both head mentors are anticipating a " jam-up" game with defense being the real key to victory. Rebel team captains f or 1973 are Lenny Lucas and Steve Henry. The 1973 UNLV team will have three necessary ingredients f or success t hat not one of the other five Rebel :14 Western Airlines teams to date had to such a high degree. This squad is the biggest, the fast est and has more depth t han any previous Rebel squad. Meyer started with 96 candidates on August 17 ·and after two weeks of two-a-day drills and another week of single practices each day, 81 players have passed the t est an d earned the righ t t o represent UNLV on the gridiron.
