A U R O R A F AGGIOLI – Mezzo-soprano

Aurora Faggioli, one of the most talented young mezzo-sopranos on the current opera scene, has been selected to perform the role of Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at Ópera de Tenerife for the Ópera Estudio project 2017. Born in Bolzano (Italy) in 1992, she studied piano and viola in her hometown, then she dedicated to study singing and graduated in singing at the Conservatory “F. A. Bonporti” of Trento. She was awarded in several singing contests, including a special mention at the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti“ (MIUR) and the first prize at the 5th International Competition held by F.M. Martini Centro sperimentale lirico in Mantua; she was also a finalist of Cesti Competition in Innsbruck and a finalist of AS.LI.CO Competition in Como. In 2012 she entered the “Accademia di Montegral” of Maestro Gustav Khun, with whom she made her debut in Bach’s Mass in B Minor for the inauguration of the new Tiroler Festspielhaus in Erl. In the following years the maestro Khun invited her to attend the 10th Masterclass Neue Stimmen in Hannover held by him with Francisco Araiza and Cheryl Studer. In September 2015 she attended the Rossini Opera Academy in Lunenburg (Canada) with Maestro Alberto Zedda, where she made her debut as soloist in Rossini’s La Petite Messe Solenelle. In summer 2016 she attended the Accademia Rossiniana di Pesaro under the guidance of Maestro Zedda, followed by her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro as Melibea in . In 2017 she attended the “Master Class Juan Diego Flórez, conectando talento e innovación” hold by Juan Diego Flórez at the Petit Palau in Barcelona and the “Master Class Mariella Devia” during the Ópera Estudio de Tenerife. Among her outstanding performances, it can mentioned Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Dorabella in Così fan tutte at Tiroler Festspielhaus Erl under the baton of Gustav Kuhn, Amour in Berlioz’s Orphée et Eurydice at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Amore in Gluck ‘s Orfeo ed Euridice at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Angelina in La Cenerentola in Lunenburg and at Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Annio in Mozart’s at the theatres of Modena and Reggio-Emilia, Tibrino in Cesti’s Orontea at Tiroler Landes Theater in Innsbruck.
