With… or Crocheting With…” Our “Knitting With…” Series has been amazing so we’ve decided to expand it by added another teacher and more sessions! This allows us teach what you want without waiting for a class to be scheduled! Do you have a favorite teacher? Do you just want dedicated class time with an instructor to work on anything you need? Is there a special project you’ve had in mind and you’d like a class? This is solution for you. Each one of our teachers has either 3 or 6 weeks of class times scheduled. You can attend as many sessions as you want. You will receive a discount if you sign up for in 3 or 6 session increments. If you choose to drop into a class it will be a full price for a single class. Pricing is as follows: 1 session/drop in = $30.00 each 3 sessions = $75.00 6 sessions = $125.00

Knitting with Wae

Wae is very patient and likes to help our newer knitters’ progress though to their next step projects. She’s proficient in short rows, sweaters, colorwork, enterlac, Mobeius knitting, and knitting. Do you want to learn to knit in the round with two circular needles? Want to knit a Ten Stitch Twist? Do you want someone supportive to just keep an eye on your first fingerless mitt project? Sign up and take Knitting with Wae! Knitting with Wae sessions will be on Wednesday Evenings from 6pm-8pm.

Knitting with Stephanie Stephanie is an amazing teacher. She too can modify patterns to suit your needs. She teaches some of our advanced classes like Brioche, colorwork techniques, lace, and the Elizabeth Zimmerman Baby Surprise Jacket. She’s also our teacher. We recommend signing up for one of Stephanie’s classes if you want to do your next step Brioche techniques. Sessions with Stephanie will be held on Tuesday Nights from 6pm- 8pm

Knitting/ with Debi – Debi is a designer as well as a proficient knitter and crocheter. She can help you modify patterns to suit your own needs, or can help you knit that sweater you’ve been nervous to try. She also likes to teach beginners, fixing mistake techniques, finishing for projects, etc. Sessions will be held on Monday nights from 6pm-8pm on the following dates

Knitting with Laurie Laurie is a teacher at heart and in real life, she loves helping her students find success and she will work hard making. sure you’re going to love what you’re knitting. She’s fantastic with kids as well as adults Laurie does know some very basic crochet techniques, but she’s a proficient lace knitter. She’s the knitter and teacher for the Mischa dress sample we have in the shop. She’s also taught the Rikke hat and the Streusel Shawl. Since this will be Laurie first knitting with series of classes she will only have 3 sessions scheduled for this semester.

This Crochet Shawl is soft and elegant. Mary crocheted this using one ball of Queensland Uluru which is beautiful yarn. It’s a quick crochet and it’s also a good stash buster if you’ve got something in you stash waiting to get used up! This is a fantastic next step crochet project. This class is taught over 3 sessions on Monday nights 6pm-8pm

Please have it downloaded before your first class or pay for it in store.

The Delancey Cardigan has a vintage feel with its striking chevron stripe motif and elegant shawl collar. Sections of thin diagonal stripes accentuate the sweater’s unusual zig-zag construction. Slanting stripes, in combination with the long sleek fit, make this a flattering design.

The body is knitted back and forth in one large piece on circular needles then divided to form the armholes. There is a seam at the top of each shoulder. Stitches for the set-in sleeves are picked up around the armhole and knitted from the top down. Stitches for the collar are also picked up along the edge, and short rows form the shawl collar.

This class is being offered as an advanced class. Nine Dwindling Cables is a slouchy cabled beret shaped by decreases hidden in the cable crossings and featuring a horizontal ribbed band for a firm yet flexible fit. You’ll also learn to read from a chart if you don’t have experience with that. What a beautiful hat for winter time!

Let’s Learn to Knit Together! $65.00 This class is taught over 4 sessions on Saturday’s from 10am-12pm

1. January 10th,2015 2. January 17th, 2015 3. January 24th, 2015 4. January 31st, 2015 This is a course we have designed to be a comprehensive beginning knitting experience. Each session will cover a specific technique needed to progress onto the next session. You can sign up for the full course or sign up to attend a particular session. You will come out of the full course with the skills to complete the project we’ll start during our third session applying what you’ll have learned during your first and second sessions. Classes agenda will be as follows:

1: Getting Started – Introductory information about and weights, how to read labels, and knitting. We will be creating our first swatch in class, and you’ll continue to work on your swatch for homework to prepare you for your next class. We will provide yarn for this class, needles must be purchased separately.

2. Next Steps – We will begin our session reviewing each student’s progress with their homework samples. We will correct mistakes as we encounter them and show you the basics to fixing your mistakes. We will also learn the purl stitch. As homework students will continue with their swatch and incorporate the purl stitch. You will be using the materials from your Getting Started session. 3. Your First Project – We will begin our session reviewing each student’s progress with their homework samples. We will correct mistakes as we encounter them and show you the basics to fixing your mistakes. Next the student’s will begin working on their first project, how to read a pattern, choosing your yarn, applying the cast on, knit, and purl stitches. You will need to purchase or bring yarn of your choice to complete the project. We will be using the same needles you’ve been using through your Getting Started and Next Steps classes. Homework will be to work on your project.

4. Finishing Touches – This will be the final session of the course. Again we will review each student’s homework and fix any mistakes and use the time to work on your project with supervision and help. Students will learn the bind off technique and bind off on their swatch from sessions 1 and 2.

This adorable baby dress is for that little princess in your life, with the sweet lace pattern at the top and the long skirt your little girl is going to look like a little lady! Laurie knit this dress in Tempting Ewe’s, Ewe So Sparkly base, but any fingering weight yarn will do!

Cuff Down Worsted Weight Sock $75.00

Are your feet ready for the cold winter and extra snow the forecasters are predicting for us this winter? These worsted weight socks make a fantastically and cozy house sock, or extra thick boot sock for shoveling snow. This class will teach you the basics of cuff-down sock construction using double pointed needles and worsted weight yarn for a super speedy finish. If you’e been curious about making socks, but not sure you want to use skinny yarn, then this class is designed for you.

Please note, this class will focus on using double pointed needles. Magic loop or two circulars will not be used in class. The pattern is free and will be provided by the teacher.

Brioche 101 Cowl $95.00

An introduction to . Learn the basic brioche stitch using two colors. With two colors and working in the round you’ll be able to see what your stitches are doing and avoid the confusion that often results when trying to learn brioche knitted flat, or with only one color. We’ll get you up and running with a finished project, and you’ll be ready to move on and tackle more advanced brioche techniques. The first meeting of class will discuss yarn choices, resulting fabrics, and needle sizes to help decide what kind of cowl you want to make. Cast-on will take place in the second meeting using your selected yarns and the needle sizes determined in the first meeting. The third and fourth classes will concentrate on identifying and fixing mistakes; learning how to read your brioche; and practicing fixing boo-boos or dropped stitches a few rows below the needles. We’ll also discuss the ways brioche and brioche-like knitting can appear in various patterns and described with different names, techniques, or methods.

If you’ve tried brioche before, or just don’t feel confident about fixing mistakes yet, this class is also a great refresher to get you ready for other brioche skills. Students retaking the class can work at their own pace and use class time to brush up on skills they already know, and learn some new ones. Proficient students can move on to learn increases and decreases from the Rhoda Brioche Cowl in the third or fourth class meeting.

We will also learn the half double crochet stitch. We will discuss how to read a pattern, choosing your yarn, and beginning the project you selected. You will need to purchase or bring yarn of your choice to complete the project. We will be using the same hook you’ve been using in class. Your homework will be to continue practicing your stitches. We will begin your project next week.

3. Your First Project – We will begin our session reviewing each student’s progress with their new projects. We will also learn the Double crochet stitch and Treble or Triple crochet stitch. We will also go over some tips to improve your crochet. Your homework will be to begin your new project.

4. Finishing Touches – This will be the final session of the course. We will review your project and make any corrections you need. Pattern reading and abbreviations will be covered again. We will answer any questions and give you some final tips and tricks to make your crochet even more beautiful. You will have time to work on your item with supervision and help.

Advanced Crochet: Crochet Hook Case $75.00

Think of this as a great next step crochet project or are you experienced but you’d like to give this a try this is the class for you! This case is worked all in one piece and folds like a book. The hook “pockets” are crocheted into the case! This case holds 10 hooks…a complete set sizes B to K.
