This Copper Shield contains the ts’imilx (beaver crest), and represents the Ts’imilx wilp in Nisga’a Society. Amongst other crests used by our People, there is also a Supernatural Beaver and a Supernatural Eagle.

Jo-ann Archibald, Q’um Q’um Xiiem, from the Stó:lō John A.
