News From “The Hill” Head of School Blog Dear TSA Parents / Grandparents / Guardians, Last week I mentioned reading a blog by Dr. Tim Elmore and the identification of 10 traits of youth that are considered counter-cultural and epitomize emerging student leaders. Additionally, we spoke about being sacrificial vs. self absorbed. Today I want to talk about being authentic vs. imitating others. We see so many people today, both young and old, that lack authenticity. From an emerging leaders perspective, it is critical to be authentic. Realize the gifts God has given you and maximize those gifts through service to others. Being a principled servant leader means being authentic. Not afraid of taking the “high road” vice imitating others. The famous line from Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken, says it ​ ​ all --- “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled…” Next week, being committed vs. apathetic. Tenacity.
