YOUR INVITATION TO THE OPENING OF THE 10,000th MILE OF THE NATIONAL CYCLE NETWORK IN CAMBRIDGE ON SEPTEMBER 11

Cambridge has been chosen as the venue for a party to mark the first 10,000 miles of an award-winning nation-wide network of cycling and walking routes created in just ten years.

And you’re invited!

Sustrans, the UK's leading sustainable transport charity, Cambridge City Council and County Council are throwing the ‘10 in 10’ party to celebrate this milestone in the history of the National Cycle Network - a network used by thousands of people every year to make millions of cycling and walking trips.

Lots of family fun is planned and cyclists from around Britain and Europe will converge on Cambridge but you don't have to ride a bike to come along and join in the fun.

Contact 01223 718363 or visit cambridgeshire.gov.uk for more information. If you want to join one of the cycle rides into Cambridge on the day call 0787 6777 558.

And why not start the day off with a leisurely stroll though some of Cambridge’s most beautiful colleges by joining in the Bridge The Gap charity walk promoted by the Cambridge Evening News in aid of local charities. The walk starts at Jesus Green and will end there just as the 10 in 10 party is getting started.
