Covid-19 Church Essay by Lillianna Afram

Covid-19 has affected me in many ways that I would not have expected. Staying in quarantine for 6 months has showed me a lot about myself and how much we take things for granted. At the beginning of quarantine, I was so excited to leave school for supposedly “two weeks”. Little did I know that I would regret everything I said. As we began to stay longer and longer in quarantine, I finally realized that this was not what I wanted. I wanted to go back to school, and I wanted to see my friends. I wanted to go to the store, and when I was able to, I wanted to do it without having to wear a mask every time. I think it had a great effect on everybody. Many people got the virus and many people had loved ones who passed due to the virus, and I think it shows us that we must appreciate every bit of life while we have it, because it could be gone in the blink of an eye. Although corona had a negative effect on everyone, I do believe that it was a blessing in disguise. This quarantine really gave people the time to reflect and to work on themselves when they needed. A lot of people needed the time but never had the time because of work or school. Yes, covid-19 had its pros and cons, but in the end, this will all be history, so all we can do now and forever is keep our faith in God, because he will lead us through it all.

“Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your P R A I S E; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your F A I T H F U L N E S S. The living, the living- they praise you, as I am doing today; Parents tell their children about your faithfulness. The Lord will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the Lord.” (Isaiah 38:17-20)

Everyone is invited, all ages are encouraged to attend!

Fr. Hanna Tayar, Fr. Nabil Habchi & Fr. Joseph Khalil will be available to hear confessions. “Christ, our Savior, may your Cross be our powerful weapon and our supreme honor; through it we shall St. Sharbel Church, Clinton Twp.
