The Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Physiology of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Nutrition (University of Navarra) seeks to fill a one year full‐time, Assistant Professor position in Physiology, Sports and Nutrition, to begin September 2020. Depending on performance and mutual interests, the contract may be extended to a second year. Advanced candidates may eventually apply for tenure.

The candidate will work in the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Physiology, a unit of 20 professors, 11 researchers that are actively involved in several degrees in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Nutrition and in the Faculty of Sciences. This department is also responsible for the European Master of Nutrition and Metabolism and participates in the PhD Program in Food Science, Physiology and Health.

Candidates will have a PhD from an accredited institution in Sports Nutrition and a post‐doctoral stage in this field (at least two years) in a non‐Spanish University by the date of the commencement of the position.

Part of the candidate's teaching will be on graduate courses in Exercise and Sports Nutrition and also in General Physiology. Any previous experience in the teaching of these or related subjects both in English and in Spanish will be very positively considered. Duties include teaching (in Spanish or English) and assisting with program development, as well as advisement and supervision of undergraduate and master´s students.

Demonstrated research excellence or promise of research in his/her AOS is expected. The Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Physiology will take into consideration the successful candidate's ability to lead research or academic projects in his or her unit, to be genuinely committed to students and show a collaborative spirit with colleagues and administrative staff.
