ENDLESS BOOGIE Full House Head ENDLESS BOOGIE Full House Head RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2010 CATALOG#: NOQ024 FORMAT: CD, 2xLP CD BOX LOT: 30 LP BOX LOT: 22 GENRE: Rock EXPORT RESTRICTIONS: No export to Australia / NZ VINYL NON-RETURNABLE CDUPC#: 899922001246 LPUPC#: 899922001925 CD LP In 2008, Endless Boogie was nudged into the spotlight with Focus Level: 79 minutes of thick psyche- delic rock spread over ten glorious tracks (11 tracks / 87 minutes if you bought the 2xLP). It was the culmination of their 10 year existence, most of which was spent in a Lower East Side rehearsal space. See, for years Endless Boogie existed for no one but themselves. Their ambitions, as guitarist Jesper Eklow told Time Out New York, went as far as, “getting together to jam every Tuesday, have a couple of beers. Get Paul out of the house.” But upon its release Focus Level was met with near-unanimous praise; being named “debut of the month” in Uncut Magazine, hailed as “note-perfect” by Rolling Stone and earning a loyal, growing fan base around the world. Where to go from there? Led by front man Paul Major (real name Top Dollar) the group entered Rare Book Room studios in December 2009 and made a brilliant 2nd album. Anchored by deep, heady grooves and epic guitar playing (this is probably the best “guitar record” made in years), the Boogie delivered seven fully realized studio tracks and one monumental rehearsal jam – sounding comfortable and focused, not weighed down by any pretension. “Full House Head!!” – These are the first words shouted in the opening track. What do they mean exactly? Keep listening and that question soon becomes irrelevant. Deep into the album you realize: it’s Endless Boogie that makes sense, and the rest of the world that needs to explain itself. SALES POINTS • Endless Boogie will perform at Primavera Festival in Barcelona and ATP curated by Pavement • Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Zwan, Bonnie Prince Billy) helped greatly in the making of this album, contributing some sick guitar licks in key parts • 2xLP includes a download code Exclusively distributed by SC DISTRIBUTION. • Barre” a Call to Action for Social and Political Change Watch Video
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 2020 AFRICAN ROCK BAND SONGHOY BLUES RELEASE NEW TRACK “BARRE” A CALL TO ACTION FOR SOCIAL AND POLITICAL CHANGE WATCH VIDEO ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM OPTIMISME SET FOR OCTOBER 23RD RELEASE ON FAT POSSUM RECORDS Nashville, TN – Acclaimed Malian rock band Songhoy Blues have released their new track “Barre” today. The group has emerged as a vital band coming out of the surging African music scene who make music for both the moment and the people. Translated from their native Songhai, “Barre” means change. The song was written to inspire the youth of their Mali homeland to get involved and help change their corrupt and oppressive political system. In light of the very recent military coup d’etat in Mali, it could not come at a more prescient and poignant time. “Barre” serves as a figurative and spiritual call to arms for the younger generation to take control of their destiny and invest in their futures. View the video performance of “Barre” HERE, and read the English lyrics below. As lead singer Aliou Toure states, “It’s like how yesterday gave today a chance, today needs to give tomorrow a chance.” Youth! Let’s rise for this change! / Just as Yesterday knew how to welcome Today / Just as Spring knew how to welcome Summer / And Summer knew how to welcome Winter / Old age must welcome Youth. “This verse describes how we are condemned to respect and accept the cyclical nature of all things,” Aliou adds. “We want the older generation to give space to the new generation.

  • 'Prince' Billy Announce Superwolves, New Album Out
February 9, 2021 For Immediate Release Matt Sweeney & Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy Announce Superwolves, New Album Out April 30th (Digitally) & June 18th (Physically) on Drag City Watch the Video for Lead Single “Hall of Death” [Photo credit - Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe] Where once was Superwolf, now roam Superwolves, the new album and demon spawn of Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, out digitally April 30th on Drag City and available physically on June 18th. Today marks the arrival of their new single “Hall of Death,” which follows “Make Worry For Me.” Sweeney and Will Oldham (aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) wrote “Hall Of Death” with visionary Tuareg guitarist and producer Ahmoudou Madassane. The song features Oldham and Sweeney in their traditional respective roles of singer and guitarist recording live in the studio with Madassane on rhythm electric guitar, joined by his formidable bandmates: Mdou Moctar adding his unmistakable lead guitar, Mike Coltun on electric bass, and Souleyman Ibrahim on drumset. Its accompanying video was directed by Sai Selvarajan and Jeff Bednarz. Watch Matt Sweeney & Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s Video for “Hall of Death” The songs that make up Superwolves, the duo’s second album and first since 2005’s Superwolf, go boldly into undreamed-of places, and go deep, as Matt and Bonny take all the musics they know to make songs that penetrate. In classic Garcia-Hunter style, Sweeney and the ‘Prince’ first work separately, finding a path to each other in their solitary imaginings. Bonnie lyric sets delivered to Matt spark Sweeney’s guitar brain; chords and a melody are shaped, recorded fast and loose and sent back to the ‘Prince,’ then the two parties meet up to sing, stitch, strengthen and finally perform them together in front of a small unsuspecting audience.
