THE REVOLUTION IN MODERN DRUMMING IS HERE: SUNHOUSE TO DEMO SENSORY PERCUSSION AT THE 2016 WINTER NAMM SHOW
LONG ISLAND CITY, NY –– JANUARY, 2016 –– After raising over $94k in a successful Kickstarter in August, 2015, Sunhouse will demonstrate its new system for electronic percussion, Sensory Percussion, at The 2016 Winter NAMM show (booth #2544).
Sensory Percussion turns the surface of any drum into an expressive digital music controller, allowing drummers to play unlimited sounds and effects while preserving all the human nuances of live performance.
With a small, easy-to-attach sensor that communicates with Sunhouse’s proprietary Mac/PC software, Sensory Percussion enables the control of multiple sounds from a single drum. This is already far beyond current trigger systems that can only control a single sound per sensor. But what makes this system truly revolutionary is that it also allows the musician to play "between" sounds and to control
continuous effects based on where the drum is hit, allowing creative possibilities that are orders of magnitude beyond any competing product.
This is done by analyzing the rich acoustics of real drums through advanced digital signal processing and machine learning techniques. Each strike of a drum produces a unique sound and Sensory Percussion's software is trained to understand and interpret these sounds allowing the drummer to map them to any electronic process he or she wants.
Sunhouse has put together a formidable lineup of some of the best drummers and producers in the industry to demonstrate Sensory Percussion at its booth. These drummers will play sounds produced and curated by the Grammy Award-winning producer/drummer Andre “Dre” Harris. In addition, the MC Yameen Allworld, will be MCing Sunhouse demos throughout the show.
Sensory Percussion is currently available for preorder on the Sunhouse website (http://sunhou.se) at a discount and is slated to ship in March, 2016. Here are the prices available during the preorder period:

● Rashid Williams, as an independent artist, is currently touring with multi-platinum and nine time Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend. He is also Musical Director for Jill Scott’s 2015 Woman album summer tour. For the past seven years, he’s toured with artists such as John Legend, Jill Scott, Eric Roberson, Goapele, N.E.R.D., Diddy – Dirty Money, J. Cole, Alicia Keys and K. Michelle. During his down time, Rashid works on his solo project, titled “Another Side of Me.”

● George "Spanky" McCurdy is a world renowned gospel/soul/pop/hip-hop drummer and producer. Spanky has toured with Lady Gaga, Diddy, Kanye, and Jill Scott, to name just a few. He is currently on tour with Ms. Lauryn Hill. Spanky has also collaborated with Queen Latifah, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Q-tip, Nas, Brandy, and Tye Tribbett. Spanky produced songs on Jill Scott’s album Light of the Sun. He was recently featured on Fox’s hit show, “Empire” Holiday Special.

● Kiran Gandhi, Kiran Gandhi is a drummer and artist who produces under Madame Gandhi. She has toured internationally with M.I.A and Thievery Corporation. When she’s not behind a kit, she’s often speaking about the future of the music industry, innovation, and feminism.

● Aaron Steele, is a heavily sought after drummer/percussionist who’s played with a variety of artists that span every genre, from cinematic electronic groups to rootsy singer songwriters. He

● Jahphet “Roofeeo” Landis, Panama-born, Brooklyn-raised Jahphet Landis is a multi- Instrumentalist, DJ and music producer. For almost a decade Roofeeo has worked with an array of talented artists, including Kanye West, Björk, The DeathSet, Ninjasonik, Theophilus London, Spank Rock and Santigold, to name a few. Since 2011 he has been the permanent drummer for TV On The Radio.
● Amaury “King Klave” Acosta is a Cuban American multi-genre drummer, producer, arranger and bandleader. He’s played with many greats including, Candido Camero, Kimbra, Pedrito Martinez, DJ Harrison, Robert Glasper, and Pino Palladino. He’s also the co-leader of the Afro- Cuban fusion group (U)nity.
● Bernard “Treway” Lambert is a Philadelphia born and raised Grammy Award-winning drummer, innovator and creator of the ONDA1 movement. He frequently plays drums with rapper Meek Mill, Jazmine Sullivan, Marsha Ambrosius and was most recently Musical Director for the Floetry reunion tour. Tre has toured and recorded with Grammy Award-winning artist Tye Tribbett and will release his own EP titled, “The Tre Way ft. The NOW GENERATION" this summer.
