Junior Sanchez Junior Sanchez La unión de cuerpo y mente caracteriza la actitud de Junior Sanchez en el sonido que crea y en los resultados que busca. Su constante deseo de reinventar su sonido le hecho ganarse un respeto a nivel mundial, ya que se le considera uno de los productores/DJs jóvenes más innovadores de la actualidad. La educación de Junior contribuyó a su filosofía y flexibilidad artística. Su familia es de Bahía, el centro musical de Brasil, y se mudó a Nueva Jersey (Estados Unidos) exponiendo a Junior Sanchez a una innumerable variedad de gustos y actitudes. Otra fuente de inspiración musical fue su madre ya que tenía una enorme colección de discos y le apoyó cuando éste quiso perseguir el sueño de ser músico. Gracias al productor Tony Rodriguez empezó a conocer lo que era un estudio de grabación y todo el proceso de producción de discos. Su unión a los denominados NASA (Nocturnal Audio Sensory Awakening) Babies, colectivo de jóvenes Djs y promotores de fiestas le hizo ser conocido en la escena de clubs neoyorquina. Junto a DJs como Jason Jinx y Odie, Junior escuchaba nuevos sonidos más experimentales. En 1992 su trabajo con el sello Rufftrax le llevó a conocer a una estrella emergente: Armand Van Helden. Ambos congeniaron muy bien y formaron los Mongoloids, un colectivo de Djs y promotores dedicados a crear música imaginativa. Mientras trabajaba con Erick Morillo en los estudios Double Platinum, Junior conoció a Harry Romero, a quién se unió para formar Nitebreed Productions, Los exitosos remixes de \"One in A Million\" de Aaliyah para Atlantic y de \"Request Line\" de Zhane para la Motown generaron un amplio reconocimiento por su trabajo y aumentaron las peticiones de colaboración con ellos. El primer proyecto en solitario de Junior Sanchez, \"Junior Sanchez Presents The Bionic Traxx\", publicado a principios de 1996 en Strictly Rhythm demostraron la maduración musical de Junior Sanchez. Cuando no trabaja en los proyectos de Nitebreed está de gira junto a sus amigos Roger Sanchez y Dj Sneak, con quienes formo el llamado S-Trio debido a la letra inicial de sus nombre.     Steve Mac (Producer/Remixer/DJ) Biog Steve Mac, AKA (formerly) one half of the Rhythm Masters began his career as a scratch hip-hop DJ at the age of 11 – where he spent as many hours a day he could practicing, and ultimately left school early because of his obsession with perfecting the vinyl ‘scratching’ skill and also the studio. He was first inspired by the likes of Marly Marl, Dr Dre, Grandmaster Flash and Jazzy Jeff and many other Hip-Hop DJs and initially started ‘messing around’ making Hip-Hop records. Steve’s Foray into house music first began with Rob Chetcuti in 1990, in Malta. Both in a local Hip-hop group, they spotted what they describe as each other’s ‘formulating talent’, and formed the production/DJ duo: The Rhythm Masters – Steve, bringing his acquired skills from his Hip-Hop past into house music. After three years of studio work, Steve, (along with Rob) moved back to England and spent much of the first half of the 90’s absorbing the house scene - particularly the garage sounds of the US, where his long-term fascination with Todd Terry and the US sound began. The sounds from this time can be heard subliminally through every Rhythm Masters track – especially from their album Disconnect Your Head with tracks like The Ghetto and Underground (feat. The vocals of Diane Charlemagne) on Black and Blue. And, amongst others, 22 releases on their own label – Disfunktional Recordings. Steve and Rob formed Disfunktional in 1996 and have since, seen releases from Junior Sanchez, Yousef, Richard Grey, Paul Woolford, Lottie, Mutiny, Kashmir, DJ Triple A and the mighty Danny Tenaglia and gorgieo moroders (from here to eternity) It wasn’t until 1996 and their remixes of Todd Terry’s Jumping’ and Plastic Dreams that it really took off for the Rhythm Masters.

So let’s start with a band’s name. It is one of the splendid ironies of the music business, where brand and image are all important, that changing a band’s name is such a di¤cult process. According to a 1993 interview with Select magazine,1 grunge-light indie act e Lemonheads needed a legal document to mark their transition from “Lemonheads” to “e Lemonheads”, a change so minute it gets lost in punctuation. At the same time, the actual meaning of a band’s name – however outlandish – tends to be forgotten. No one considers how ridiculous the words “Arctic Monkeys” are when put together; we immediately think of the internationally famous, festival-topping band, their name free from other, more literal, associations. Similarly, Daft Punk are just Daft Punk.     CARL KENNEDY Carl Kennedy, originally from Birmingham, England, has made a substantial impact in the music industry in recent years. Pete Tong of BBC’s Radio 1, proclaims, “Carl is one of the world’s best undiscovered DJs.” - DJ MAG. Shortly after his arrival in New York, Carl began his own party at Centro- Fly, called GBH, Great British House. The success of GBH, which had over a quarter of a million people pass through the doors, cemented Carl’s reputation on the New York House scene. It was during GBH that Carl shared the stage with acts like Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Mark Ronson, Roger Sanchez and his mentor, Erick Morillo.
