MEDIA-SPAIN-TELECINCO (INTERVIEW) (UPDATE 1) INTERVIEW- SPAIN'S TELECINCO SEES Q4 AD SLOWDOWN

(Adds details from paragraph 3) By Robert Hetz

MADRID, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Spanish broadcaster Telecinco , a unit of Italy's , expects advertising revenue growth to slow in the fourth quarter, Chief Executive Giuseppe Tringali told Reuters in an interview on Thursday. "The advertising market will not fall, but there will be a slower rise (than in the first nine months)," he said. Earlier the company said third-quarter advertising revenues rose 30.5 percent year-on-year, sending its shares up 2 percent. Nine-month revenues rose 26 percent. Tringali said he was not worried about a slowdown, adding, "We can't expect these figures to keep on rising infinitely." Advertising rose strongly in the last quarter of 2003, and some customers brought forward their campaigns to the first half of this year, he noted. For the fourth quarter, some food retailers have issued profit warnings and are reducing their advertising spending, which will weigh on the figures, he said. For the year as a whole, however, the broadcaster expects to log record results, he said. "It will be an absolute record year in the whole history of Telecinco -- way above 2000," he said. Asked if an extraordinary dividend was on the cards for this year, Tringali said: "Yes, if by the end of the year there is no defined plan to carry out other investments, it could be that shareholders decide to increase the dividend." Telecinco shares were up 1.67 percent at 15.25 euros at 1225 GMT. Telecinco, which makes more than 90 percent of its revenues from advertising, was the television channel with the most viewers in Spain in September, industry sources said last week. Rival Antena 3 was just ahead in prime-time viewers.
