Huizhou is one of the cities located within the -Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It is a coastal city known as both “the Gateway to Eastern Guangdong” and “the Preeminent City in the Lingnan Region,” lying in the southeastern part of Guangdong. is primarily an export-oriented economy, focusing on the development of commercial, high-tech, services, tourism and industries.

Huizhou ranks among the Top Ten Green Cities in the Mainland, and it has been designated as a Global Tourism Demonstration Zone and one of the country’s Famous Historical and Cultural Cities. It is also home to the Zhongkai National High-tech Industrial Development Zone and the Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone. In terms of GDP contribution, Huizhou’s secondary industries were the biggest contributor, while its reliance on tertiary industries is climbing steadily.

Meanwhile, riding on the rapidly developing connections between Guangdong and external economies, Huizhou’s enterprises are "going global" to expand their overseas business and grasping opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative. The main destinations of these enterprises’ overseas investment include Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and the United States. At the same time, through the aforementioned locations, further investments are reaching Vietnam, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and other countries and regions.

To better understand the latest development in Huizhou, the Committee is organizing a delegation to visit Huizhou from 14 to 15 December. Apart from calling on local officials to explore the positioning of Huizhou in the development of the GBA, the delegation will also visit some key enterprises in the manufacturing industries.

**Registration Details: The mission is exclusively for HKGCC members. Each corporate member can send up to 2 delegates to join this mission. The participation fee for the mission is HKD900, inclusive of local transport, all meals and other related administrative expenses, but excludes hotel and interpretation costs.
