10 HALL of FAME In 2005, Avergne Jackson was our first member inducted into our Hall of Fame. At this time, the Board of Director’s is accepting nominations from the membership for candidates for the 2007 recognition.
All who are to be considered must have been a member for the past 5 years. The individual should demonstrate leadership within our organization. Another quality would be the promotion of the breed. This might include organizing or participating in shows and sales whether on the national, state or local level. Perhaps this individual advertises his operation and the breed thus promoting the breed. The last qualification is that the individual is NOT currently a member of the Board of Director’s. Nominate yourself or someone else. Send in a name and your reasons why this person should be inducted in the Hall of Fame. Send your nomination to Sherry at the Office or to Larry Fedler. 28 Notes from the Office….. Hello to everyone! This years National American British White Park Show, Meeting & Banquet was the best ever. It was a pleasure to finally put some faces with the voices and names that I have already come to know and respect. I would like to thank the Nimmer’s for their gracious hosting of the events this year.
The Banquet & Annual meeting was held on Friday night with our special guest being the International visitors from England and some British White Cattle members. During the dinner and annual meeting the international guests were seated with the ABWPA members and this made for some wonderful family agricultural, and cattle related discussions.
The meeting was conducted with the auction of a few donated items then the new Board Members were announced and the 1st meeting for them was held to elect officers and choose the meeting place for the winter meeting and address any unfinished business. The new board members are Jim Munch, Dave Slater and re-elected was Kevin Wolf. The new officers are Glenn Wenger - President, Jim Munch - Vice President, and Dave Slater - Secretary/ Treasurer. The location of the winter meeting was choosen for Wheatland, Wyoming with a stop in Laramie, Wyoming at the University of Wyoming to tour their agriculture center and learn about the research projects that are being conducted there. The tour will be January 26th and the meeting is set for January 27th, 2007 at Gusty J Ranch, Jay Johnson’s ranch in Wheatland, Wyoming.
It is the time of year again to start turning in all of your weaning and yearling weight information. Everyone will be receiving the letter and forms for that information by the end of the year so lets get that information turned into the office.
For those people that are hooked up to the world wide web and use our website for their source of information to their customers and people who would like more information 29 Notes from the Office….. about the breed, let me direct you to our new Online Registration Application. This is up and running but we are still monitoring it closely to make sure we do not lose a registration application in cyber space. If you would like to give it a try just go to www.whitecattle.org then choose Association forms then on to the Online Registration Application, just complete the form, then it will be sent to the office. Please note if you are registering a bull please email the picture for completion of the registration. We are currently working on getting the option to attach the photo of the animal at the end of the application. Please be patient as we move forward with the new technology.
We are also looking into the possibility of enabling a search engine that will search for the pedigree’s of animals that hold a registration number with the ABWP association. This will take some time but that is one of the next big changes to the website that we hope to make in the upcoming year.

Each year the association sells caps and t-shirts and the upcoming year is no different. We would like to know if there are any other products that you would like to see with the ABWPA logo on or something that you would be interested in using to promote your cattle and the breed in general. Membership renewals are also coming upon us for the 2007 season. The 2007-2008 Membership Directory and Breeder’s Guide is scheduled to go to print by February 28th, 2007 therefore the renewal notices will be mailed in December and all must be returned by February 15th, 2007.
