SUPPORTING LOCAL SCHOOLS HELP RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES KEEP FAMILIES CLOSE TO THEIR CHILDREN IN HOSPITAL

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital. Going to a hospital far from home can be a frightening experience for a child, so it’s important they have their families close by for love and comfort.

Appt Corp has supported Ronald McDonald House Charities since 2006 collecting via our counter-top collection boxes, and through staff and individual initiatives. We donate a percentage of our sales to Ronald McDonald House Charities and each restaurant has a collection for customer donations and fundraises too. In the last five years we have raised in total over £300,000.

In 2016 the Charity will open a brand new 59 bedroom House to support families with children at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in the centre of London. The House will replace the existing Ronald McDonald House Guy’s and St Thomas’ which is located too far away from the children’s ward and only provides 20 bedrooms; simply not enough for the number of families who need to be close to their sick child. Your local McDonald’s is keen to do all it can to support the charity in the ongoing running of the House.

McDonald’s and the team at your local restaurant would be delighted if you would make a donation on our Just Giving page. www.justgiving.com/ApptCorpEvelinaLondon/ A CGI image of the new Ronald McDonald House Evelina London

A PARENT’S TESTIMONY Amy and her family stayed in a Ronald McDonald House after their son Noah was born premature with complications.

"If it wasn't for the Ronald McDonald House and the wonderful staff we wouldn't have been able to stay in London and be by Noah's side each day.

“Twice last year we have stayed at the Guy's and St Thomas' House and we couldn't be more thankful - it is such a great place.

“Having a bed to sleep in, a shower to wash and going back there in the evenings to meals cooked by the volunteers was such a weight off our minds." - Noah's Mum

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity registered in England and Wales (802047) and in Scotland (SC040717). CREATING OPPORTUNITIES

OUR RESTAURANTS ARE CHANGING INVESTING IN THE FUTURE Over the next few years, we are undertaking a large-scale investment to revolutionise the experience for all of customers. Our transformed restaurants will provide more choice in how to place and pay for orders, alongside totally refurbished restaurant interiors to provide a fresh and contemporary décor.

KIOSK ORDERING One of the new features of our new look restaurants are the touch screen order kiosks. Our Swiss Cottage restaurant was one of the first in London to install these as well as being first to ofer table service, so once customers have placed their order, they can sit down and relax while their order is prepared and then delivered direct to their table. STRIVING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE McDonald's recognises responsibilities to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. That is why McDonald's has a sustainable sourcing policy for food and packaging, and aim to use our planet's resources eficiently. INVESTING IN BRITAIN'S FARMERS McDonald's Farm Forward philosophy is a long-term programme to support the farming industry across the UK and Ireland. McDonald's wants to do our bit to make sure there are enough younger farmers who care as much about animal welfare, the environment and great tasting food as we do. SPORT

We are continuing to increase our sponsorship of up- and-coming football teams in the local area.

Over the last year we have continued to support grassroot football through donating kits to a number of local teams.

We see football as a great way to stay fit and healthy whilst learning skills that go beyond the game, such as discipline and teamwork.

We are proud to help make grassroots football easier and more enjoyable for young people in our local communities. SUPPORTING AND SPONSORING OUR LOCAL TEAMS
