hp OpenView Tiering Matrix Page 1 of 2 Updated: 17 January 2002 (For OV Performance Agent, OV Operations Agent, SPIs, Internet Services, GlancePlus and GlancePlus Pak) 1. This matrix is a tool for identifying what system a tier is in. NOT ALL of the above products are supported on all systems in this matrix. 2. For OV Operations Agents, Performance Agents and SPIs a workstation used as a single-user system is classified as a Tier 0 system. 3. Professional Desktop License is for use on a single-user Intel-based PC that is running Windows 2000, Windows NT or RedHat Linux. 4. The tiering below is valid for all systems running AIX, HP-UX, Linux, MS Windows and Sun Solaris. All other systems are tiered/priced using separate product numbers as follows: OV Multi-vendor Agent - B7442AA, OV Multi-vendor Operations Agent - B7443AA, OV Multi-vendor Performance Agent - B7444AA. 5. If an OV Agent is being ordered for a system which has multiple partitions / domains (virtual systems) a ‘password request form’ specifying the number of ‘additional’ partitions/domains has to be completed and sent to the password delivery center. The password delivery center will validate the request and then supply a valid password. For example, a customer who has purchased a Tier 4 license for a Sun Enterprise 10000 system with 11 domains / partitions, will receive only 1 license for the OV Agent from the purchase of the Tier 4 license and needs to request a password for the 10 additional domains/partitions from the password delivery center.
