Dr. Soo-Kyun Kim Dr. Imran Ghani Program Chairs of APIC-IST 2016 http://apicist.org/2016 06 Keynote Speaker Dr. Lin-huang Chang . Professor of Computer and information science, National Taichung Univ. Taiwan . Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, State University of New York(SUNY) at Buffalo, USA Title : Hierarchical SDN system with heterogeneous WSN networks for forest illegal logging monitoring Software defined networking (SDN) has emerged as one promising networking architecture which provides dynamic adjustment and abstraction of the network resources and improves the network programmability with application programmable interfaces (APIs). The OpenFlow protocol which provides the communication between the controller and forwarders is a functional element to achieve SDN networking. Based on the network state information, acquired from forwards, the SDN controller is able to define per-flow decisions, such as QoS schemes, and push them to forwarders as flow table updates. In this talk, will propose a heterogeneous SDN network with 3-tier hierarchical architecture as the forest logging monitoring system. The 3-tier hierarchical architecture includes Tier-1 SND and controlling networks, Tier-2 WSN mesh networks, and Tier-3 heterogeneous wi-fi, WSN and sensing networks. The proposed forest logging monitoring system combines SDN networks with Internet of Things (IoTs) using WSN sensing nodes. The WSN sensing nodes are equipped with audio and/or image recognition algorithm for illegal forest logging monitoring. The designed heterogeneous SDN system provides network function virtualization (NFV) with four different services, such as Emergency Alert Service (EAS), Sensor Reporting Service (SRS), Video Stream Service (VSS), and Network Management Service (NMS). The proposed system will prevent the forest from illegal logging and thus preserve the environmental resources on forest exploitation appropriately http://apicist.org/2016 07 Keynote Speaker Dr. Akira Tanaka Professor, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University, Japan Title : Color
