Natinoal Seminar on Transforming India 2030: A Roadmap for Sustainable Development Goals Sustainable development is new phenomenon to meet the requirements of people and their overall growth. To achieve "2030Agenda" UNDP has set 17 goals which are broad and interdependent. In last few decades India witnessed a economic growth which is also reflected in rise in standard of living of people but it is also noticed that this growth in only confined to a small proportion of the population and a large section of society is still lacking their basic needs of living. Thus, is clear that in India the economic growth is unequally distributed amongst the population which results in unequal sustainable development of peoples. The governments along with other non-government organizations have put some serious efforts for upliftment of such sections of society. UNDP has set 17 goals for the world for all over sustainable development, but in India there are certain areas which need more attention for overall sustainable development. Today, to achieve the SDGs, countries focus mainly education, health, energy systems, land-use, urban development, and many other dimensions. Each transformation requires long term changes involving large numbers of stakeholders from government, business, and civil society. Since such complex transformations cannot be implemented by markets alone, governments must take the lead in mobilizing stakeholders, planning for the transformations, designing supporting policy processes and mobilizing the public funding. The aim of this seminar is to explore and discuss such areas and provide a platform where views and thoughts of academicians and professionals on sustainable development can be discussed thoroughly. The outcome of this seminar will be very useful for policy makers to understand the priority goals to be focused for sustainable development in India by 2030. You are cordially invited to participate in the seminar. It will be our pleasure to welcome you at Jodhpur. We shall put in every effort to make the seminar fruitful and see that your stay at Jodhpur is comfortable. And, blue color keeps houses cool. Jodhpur city is divided into two parts - the old city and the new city. The old city is separated by a 10 km long wall surrounding it. Also it has eight Gates leading out of it. The new city is outside the walled city. Jodhpur is a very popular tourist destination. The landscape is scenic and mesmerizing. Field cultures were prep~.red to obtain examples of the various species. The material was subjected to appropriate intra vitam staining and also observed under a phase contrast microscope. In some cases, .owing to scarcity of material, this could be done only for one or two individuals·. For the study of Ciliates, silver-line observations were taken as far as possible, and the fixatives used were Champy's fluid and saline Da Fano's fixative. A total of 30 species are listed here. The number of examples. mentioned in the text, relates to the permanent preparations made, where as many individuals were observed and studied in the field before reaching a ny conclusion. For an account of the topography, climate, vegetation, etc. of Rajasthan, see Part I (General Introduction) of this series of papers.
