Glebe-St. James is an Affirming Congregation in the United Church of Canada. Everyone AND their gender, race, ethnicity, abilities and sexual orientation is welcomed and celebrated. We remember in gratitude the Algonquin Peoples on whose traditional unceded land we now gather. We acknowledge their story and their stewardship of the land and water, the plants and animals, through many generations. Allergy alerts Glebe-St. Games is a nut-free zone. Congratulations all of us……..GSJames now has a triple AAA Financial rating Yes, Glebe-St. James has done it. We have a AAA Financial Rating as of December 31, 2019. We have it because: The 2019 Operational Budget is balanced with a surplus of over $7k, Our total Cash Surplus in the Operational Budget is over $50k, Our annual Operating Revenue continues to grow and in 2019 we pushed through $390k, Our 2019 Congregational Givings of $189k is the highest in the past four years. Most importantly and an aspect that we may take for granted is the timeliness and accuracy of the $$$$$$$ reports we receive from our accounting department…. Thank you!!!!! Push for PAR (Pre Authorized Remittance) Currently every month we receive just over $8k from the 57 of us who are on PAR. PAR remittance is really important as it helps smooth over our Givings to the Operational Budget. In the next few weeks we will be trying to increase PAR in two ways. We would like to increase the number of givers on PAR and would like to grow the $8k to over $10k. If you are currently on PAR and would like to change your current givings, please send an e-mail to the church office and provide us with your new instructions. For those not currently on PAR - we will be mailing out a PAR application form. Read it over and if you have any questions, you can call the church office or connect with me …Dudleigh Coyle ([email protected]). You can return your form to the church office, place in on the offering plate or send the required information to the church via e-mail. OMRA Grocery Cards If you would like to pre-order grocery cards for pick up in February, please submit your order before 12 Noon on Tuesday, January 28th. Drop in visitors are most welcome to join us on the first and third Tuesdays at 7:30 pm. The GSJ Guild is active in the Winter months We are taking on specific jobs to help pass away the winter months. Currently we are doing house monitoring while owners are South. We have energy to do home tidy up, basement organizing or stuff just taken away. We also have an Estate group that will deal with semi-valuable artifacts. We currently have items at auction and other items waiting for our fall bazaar. Now could be a good time to call us as we have time (Dudleigh Coyle). All Good!
