As a person who guards her privacy, it’s one of the few things we have been told about Mrs May. Of course some will say she’s embarrassed to admit it but therein lies the irony: in an age when prejudice and discrimination are legally proscribed, most practising Christians will know only too well what it is to be pilloried for their faith. Whether with private suspicion or public scorn, some will regard the occupant of Number 10’s weekly appointment with God as a sign of personal weakness, if not a reason to question her motives and judgment. Surely better a Prime Minister who knows she is accountable to a power higher than the passing fancy of the electorate. Better someone who knows that on her own she does not have all the answers – who sees the need for a corrective to the ego-maniacal tendency at work in all of us. It won’t make her perfect, but maybe she’ll be clearer about her imperfections. And who would begrudge the lady one hour a week telephone call and meeting free, a sixty minute reminder that despite appearances, she’s not really in charge at all. SED. Where is your Chair In the conservatory? On the patio perhaps? Maybe you’ve got a balcony, a summer house, a man/woman-shed or a shady quiet spot in the garden.

It is a privilege to present my ninth report to Tipperary County Convention. 2015 was so full of promise being so near and yet so far away and could have easily turned out a great year. After a bad start losing the Waterford Crystal and League first round our Senior Hurlers had four very impressive League wins on the trot to qualify for the League play-offs. A most disappointing one point loss to Waterford in the League Semi was put aside as we overcame our bogey team Limerick in the Munster Championship with a sixteen point victory in their own Gaelic Grounds. This was followed up with a Munster Final win over Waterford and momentum was building towards an All Ireland Final.

Check this out. In 2010, Boden participated in 1,500 competitive games across the four codes. Given that this also involved 1,500 teams from Criostóir Ó Cuana, Úachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael performs the official opening of the other clubs with an average of 20 players per squad this Sancta Maria Complex watched by Terry O’Neill, Club Chair; Cllr. Eamonn Maloney, Mayor of South Dublin; Joan O’Flynn, Úachtarán, Cumann Camógaíochta; Colin Moran and Fr. Jimmy amounts to a total of 60,000 players taking part in gaelic games Murray, O. Carm., PP, St. Colmcille’s Knocklyon playing activity involving the club. And of course don’t forget the 1,500 referees. It is a phenomenal number. Add in all the training sessions and discussions associated with each team and the impact of this voluntary activity is truly enormous. As the country faces into difficult economic times, it is heartening to see such endeavour complemented with characteristics like passion, spirit and hope. These qualities are not in short supply in Ireland and if we can harness them properly we will overcome our problems. The club itself was overcome with joy in 2010 with the marvellous four-in-a-row senior hurling titles – an achievement that places the club among the ranks of great clubs.
